It's good to hear you have spent some money on yourself such as your hair and some new clothes . I am sure you will get your wear out of your purchases.
It's your fault I have gone decluttering mad:rotfl::rotfl:. In a nice way of course. Hope the mice have gone on holiday never to return.
DS2 has definitely got the travel bug , when is he off again ? Has DH been better today after his work stress . Have a good weekend , sending good vibes for the shed to go up !
Thanks Sunshine. Sorry I've infected you with my de-cluttering madness but it does make the home seem pleasanter :rotfl:.
DS2 is off at the end of this month.
DH does seem less stressed now he's made the decision to ditch the customer. Fingers crossed for shed building tomorrow.

If the mice were about you’d see mouse poo... but until you’re sure make hygiene a priority, particularly for food prep as mice are incontinent...
I haven't seen any fresh mouse poo recently so maybe they are taking a little holiday.
I wipe down every surface in the kitchen with anti bac wipes every morning and before I do food prep just in case. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

DS2 sounds like he is really having a ball. It's great, although I understand your worry.
Don't let the guilt last too long. I am sure it will be an outfit that will be worn and worth its cost.

. If I was going to South America I'd be over the moon, but because it's DS2 going I feel worried. And yet I think he is quite careful and plans it all carefully. Mums just worry about their DC

It feels cool this morning but it's lovely sunshine and should warm up to about 14 degrees later. I've put the two clothes horses with yesterday's laundry on in the garden to finish drying and there's some more clothes washing.
Currently the new wheelie bin has been sitting where the shed needs to go. So I've moved a load of pots away so that I can move the new wheelie bin there. But first I'm resting with a cup of tea before I need to sweep up a load of leaves, soil and stones from that area. It's quite tiring moving heavy pots full of soil.
Once I've moved the wheelie bin I need to sweep up and scrape off some dead moss and algae from the area where it was. Then once that area is clean and tidy it will be ready for the shed to go there. I'm still hopeful that it may get built today! I've also poured three kettlefuls of hot water on the weeds in the main part of the garden as DH said he doesn't want to get covered in pollen when assembling the shed.
So there's a lot of preparatory work to be done before the shed assembly, but the garden is a bit of a mess at the moment as I've been neglecting it in order to de-clutter the house.
All I can say is that the shed had better get assembled after all my preparations or I will not be happy! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I have to do 'right, are we ready to get on with X then' to get people moving. And 'do you need me to help'. He starts fiddling with things if he wants me to do something that I am procrastinating about, knows I hate it when he moves things so that always works.

Re naughty mice, Hairyhand, are you in a semi-detached house? I ask, because this was a factor in the mouse infestation we had a few years back. When we'd caught Seven of the little b*ggers...... 6 in a humane mousetrap (driven off to be released in field) & one using cookery books to make a tunnel leading into a box, I decided to phone council pest control operative. He was fantastic.... £40 & he visited 5 times to check progress. I told him where I thought the mice were coming in & he ignored that & asked if we had any stripped wooden floors. Yes! He said we kept thinking the problem was solved because the mice were breeding under the floorboards & because we are in a semi-detached house, they can keep running underneath & accessing both ours & our neighbours homes. He said that if you can fit a pencil or the tip of your little finger into a gap, then a mouse can defo fit through & he found two gaps in our floorboards.... one almost invisible right close to the skirting boards where he said they were coming through. This was confirmed the next day when I made a grab for one which ran across the lounge floor but missed when it squeezed through the skirting board gap. Turned out neighbours had seen a couple too, so this running between two semis thing had certainly made them harder to catch. Sadly had to use bait boxes provided by pest control man, but he said that if we'd managed to catch 7 ourselves, we defo had a sizeable infestation under the floorboards. This is why you can think you've got rid of them for a while..... they're busy popping up into the neighbouring house, but will come back when they're ready.
Re the humane traps - you do need to check them regularly so any little mice caught are not left in distress..... & our most successful food for trapping? Mars bar!
If you don't have mouse poo or that sickly but very noticeable 'mouse smell' in your cupboards, you probably don't have a problem.

Well I'm hoping my ground preparations are a sizeable hint :rotfl:. DH did just say I'd suppose I'd better do the shed today then, after I gave him an itemised list of my activities :rotfl:. I would be very willing to help but DS1 has offered.
The mouse may be living in the garden now as it's quite warm lately .redofromstart wrote: »Also, Surfeit of Lampreys is a great book. Hope you enjoy it. And I now know what to read next in the bath.
It's one of my favourites too and I didn't have a copy of it. A Clutch of Constables is another favourite.
