The wheelie bin arrived:T . I wouldn't have been so cross if they'd told me it would arrive today, so [strike]all[/strike] most is forgiven
.
I had a good morning at school and got my hair trimmed in the afternoon. I didn't have time to come home and go out again (hairdresser is near school). DH suggested I buy lunch in the cafe near school, but instead I took a buttered bagel from home (35p) and ate it in the staffroom with a cup of tea (free) :money:. Then I nipped across and had my hair cut whch was £39  so it's lucky my lunch only cost 35p! However my hair looks lovely and she gave me a head massage when she washed it which I found very relaxing. Plus I hadn't been to the hairdresser for four months so it averages at £10 per month for my hair.
When I got home DH had been to see the new client and was not happy as they keep changing the goalposts, the man in charge is quite confrontational in his manner and was quibbling over the amount he'd put on his invoice . So we've agreed that he's going to dump said customer on Tuesday. He was so stressed a couple of weeks ago that I was worried he was going to have another stroke. Anyway he's emailed them a more detailed invoice with a breakdown of every single hour he's worked (more than he'd charged for) and I told him to forget about them over the weekend. It's not worth sacrificing his health over
. I just hope they pay his invoice.
I actually feel better today, probably because I know I have a weekend to relax and sort out the [strike]pigsty[/strike] house. Also I think I finally feel less tired after five good nights sleep! Maybe going to the hairdresser helped too, plus the fact that my wheelie bin arrived.

Thank you Lucky
. Yes it is disappointing that the new customer has turned into a bit of a nightmare one
. But I don't want to risk DH's health as he's already had a mini stroke.

Evening HHD. It must be hair cut week on MSE
I love the washing part best of all, it's so relaxing and I always cross my fingers my hairdresser doesn't start talking to me until we're at the actual cutting stage so I can enjoy it :rotfl:
Maybe your wheelie bin arrived because you did get cross
I agree, your husband's health is a priority and it's not worth him getting stressed about the job or dreading having to work for this customer. And if this is how the client acts at the start of a new business relationship, I can't see it getting any better.
Enjoy your evening. xx0 -

Thanks TF2. It is relaxing plus I hate washing my hair and she blow dried it nicely this time too
. If I was rich I'd go twice a week just to have my hair washed and blow dried and then I'd never have to do it at home again :rotfl:.
Yes maybe the wheelie bin arrival was a direct result of my stroppy message :rotfl:.
You're right that the customer relationship is unlikely to improve. We always think that if a customer starts to quibble over payment then it's a sign they don't trust you and DH can't work for someone who doesn't trust him.

At least we have enough money to pay our bills for May without touching the EFs if we're frugal. As it's only the 3rd of May DH has time to earn money for us to live on in June. If the customer does pay the invoice then that's June's money sorted, so DH can focus on earning July's money. All without touching the EFs
.
It's not ideal to walk away from a customer but we've found from past bitter experience that nightmare ones cause a lot of stress, quibble over invoices and take up so much of our time that we neglect other customers and risk losing them. So sometimes walking away is the best solution. DH will have time to focus on our other customers. He's got two that have asked for quotes for work and now he can get on with producing those quotes. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
