Love that you had your hair done. You deserve that treat.
Trust is a huge thing. I have found that if you don't trust someone fully, yo struggle to work for them properly and engage in any kind of activity with your whole heart in it. I think you are right not to risk his health over it. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Enjoy the new hair do.
No customer or job is worth risking health for.
Thanks Milann.

Hello ive been reading your diary for a while now i just wanted to unlurk and say thank you for talking about reclaiming ppi and pacakaged bank accounts as it made me look into OH's and i managed to claim £380 from his that he had over 10yrs ago.
Also Im wondering have you asked (if your school has one) your breakfast/afterschool club if they need any staff at the moment to increase hours- ours always employs school staff if they can but you have to tell them if your interested and they may be seeking holiday club staff too.
I now understand your user name after they were talking about it on a panel show the other day, i'd never heard the story of the hairy hand so i had to look it up.0 -
Hi Cocalls. Thanks for de-lurking
. I saw that panel show too, it was Josh Widdecombe who mentioned it wasn't it?
.
I'm really glad you managed to reclaim some money from OH's account :T. The banks have been screwing us over for years, so it's nice to get some money back from them for a change.
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately our school doesn't have a breakfast or after school club. I wish it did or that would have been perfect for me.

I went on my Saturday saunter today. I went in with DH and DS1 at 9.30am as they wanted to get some free comics from the comic shop and came home on the bus.
I bought two books in the charity shop for £1 each, "A Surfeit of Lampreys" by Ngaio Marsh and a book on brain training. I feel like my brain is really slow and sluggish at the moment so I thought I could try some of the exercises in the book. I don't know it it's stress, tiredness, early onset dementia, or just because I'm in my fifties, but I just don't feel as mentally alert as I used to.
Then I was lured into a clothes shop by a sign which said 25% off everything and bought a skirt and a tee shirt for £41.17. I feel very guilty now
. The skirt is for summer wear. I don't usually wear skirts in the summer as I have varicose veins, so I wear cotton chinos instead but I get really hot sometimes and feel like I always dress the same. The skirt is a midi skirt, but because I'm only 5"4 it's a maxi length on me and hides my veins. Then I bought a tee shirt to go with it. I feel really guilty but I don't want to return them because I think I will get good use out of them. So I guess I've spent my £30 treats fund and part of next month's too
.
I think next time I go to the shops I'll leave my debit card at home and just take cash with me to avoid temptation. I did buy a notebook to use as a spending diary, so hopefully that will help to keep me on the straight and narrow in future.
I spent £6.93 in Sup3rdrug on face powder, Germolene and ibuprofen. Then I spent £6.83 in Mr T on bananas, grapes, bagels and antihistamines. My bus fare home was £1.60. I got my coffee on my gift card.
So it felt like quite a spendy day today, but it was all needed apart from the clothes.
While I was out I dropped off a few things at the charity shop; a sports holdall that hadn't been used for years, some uncomfortable trainers, a duplicate book and two mugs I didn't like.
This afternoon I need to clean out the furry moron, put some laundry on, fold up the laundry on the clothes horses and hopefully hoover the living room.
I'm glad it's a bank holiday weekend as that will give me longer to relax/de-clutter/clean the house and hopefully go a trip to an NT place too.

Why not set up a clothing allowance? (Says she who needs to do the same)
Clothes should not come out of your treat fund. Clothes are essential especially now you are working. Looking good boosts self esteem too.
I'm also constantly decluttering...
Hope you do go for a NT visitIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
Emergency fund 3501000
Buffer fund 0/100

The skirt and top sound lovely.
When you mentioned Germolene it took me back to my teenage years :rotfl:and imagined the smell as I plastered my face in it at night - no idea where I got that little gem of info to keep me spot free from - the things we do :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks DIA. Clothes are an essential but only if you need them
. These were more of a want than a need. but I will enjoy wearing them
. I think I'd like to use my treats fnd for clothes though, because I do love clothes and they are good for self esteem.

Thanks Milann. Germolene is great for cuts as it numbs the wound as well as kills germs, and it doesn't smell horrible like TCP. I'm glad I'm not a spotty teenager any more :rotfl:.

Bitty comments :
All people's wonderful suggestions for 'feeding' mice (raisins, peanut butter, chocolate spread !!)make me think they have Cordon Bleu options !! Hope they all actually work.
The idea of meeting relatives at a central point is a really good one, and definitely not so tiring.
Reading several days diary on the trot made me notice you'd had a number of headaches recently, and maybe you've just been trying to fit too much in. I hope several good nights rest chases them away, and you can find some relaxation time in your busy schedule.
Re naps, I read once of the idea that as coffee is supposed to take ~15 mins to give you the energy burst, you drink your coffee and THEN nap. Because it will curtail the nap you don't slip into deep sleep.
I understand missing the mammogram. If guys had their testicles crushed between 2 metal plates, I don't think they'd be very keen either. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes totally painless - unpredictable, but I'm afraid I always get a bit panicky as the upper plate descends !
OH doesn't want a SatNav because he's got an excellent geographical sense, and likes maps, so doesn't wish to lose a skill. I don't want one because I'd never know where I'd been or how I'd got there !!!0 -
Sounds like a lovely day and a nice weekend planned.
The clothes also sound really nice. Treating yourself is well deserved at the minute and I am glad you are doing it. xxSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
