Well DH will have to wait a bit longer for his new glasses now, but I do think it's important not to dip into the EF as I know what we're like :o.

It sounds like a plan for May, will you get charged much for using the overdraft though?

We will get charged a bit for the overdraft but I'd still rather do that than touch the EF. I know that once the horse bolts we'll never get that stable door closed again :o. It's a fair point though :).

I know what you mean about only having that money once and not wanting to fritter it away. Several years ago we got some ppi and I could have used it to pay debt I’d created - dh wasn’t aware of the amount I’d built up . I was determined to sort it myself and not use joint cash which the ppi was. We put it away with the sole purpose of doing the house up - this cash wasn’t dibbed into for anything else. We had a new bathroom, built in cupboards in the hall, hall replastered, decorated and new carpets inside. Outside we had artificial grass, sheds and a new railing at the front of the house. It would have been so easy to use it for bills and paying things off but I’d have had nothing to show for it - I knew I’d pay the debt eventually but wouldn’t have saved for the jobs we’d had done and I suspect we’d still be waiting. I’m pleased I did as I did.

I think that was the right thing to do with your PPI Milann as you can enjoy your home improvements now and the debts still got paid off in the end :). I'd love to have some home improvements on our houses, but I'm going to save up for them rather than touch the EF :).

I know what you mean about the EF, last year I did a 0% money transfer to cover some things needed for the house rather than use mine. All paid off now, I might not have been disciplined to put it back by now but knew I had to pay the card off in a year.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Volunteering was good today. There was a funny moment when the teacher realised she'd taught Friday's maths instead of Thursday's and called herself a numpty :rotfl: so they'll have to teach Thursday's maths tomorrow :D. My lunch time job was good too although my hands were cold and I wished I'd brought my gloves. When will I learn to bring sunglasses and gloves every day because the weather is so changeable!

I've been thinking that in the summer I may need some kind of utility belt or bum bag because I'll need somewhere to stash my sunglasses and sun hat when I'm in the dining room. Normally I put them in my coat pocket but I won't be wearing a coat in the summer. So I'll need a utility belt or clothes with really big pockets :rotfl:.

Since getting home I haven't done very much because I've been feeling so tired :(. I put the dishwasher on and put away the Mr T order when it arrived, and put some recycling in our newly emptied wheelie bin. But apart from that I've just been on the sofa feeling drained.

I know I've had a busy morning, I've usually done 9,000 steps by the time I get home, but I can usually do things in the afternoon too. I can't believe how much our weekend away drained me :(. There are so many things I'd like to do like hoovering, emptying all the bins, dusting, more de-cluttering, etc.

Anyway the new small wheelie bin I ordered should arrive today so maybe that will cheer me up.
