Working with kids is always tiring, but I think lunch time is even more tiring TF2 because as you say the classroom is a more structured and orderly environment, whereas in the playground it is more chaotic.

It's not so bad when they're running around playing, it's when you have to get them to line up quietly that a bit of a firm raised voice is required from me sometimes  :rotfl:.

I do seem to spend a bit of time ushering them from one activity to another. The vast majority are as good as gold and very sensible, but there's always one or two who get boisterous and test the boundaries, but I'm learning who needs to be kept an eye on and what their names are which helps ;).

I found it really tiring working more hours, it takes a few weeks to adjust.

I'm doing my best Joyce Grenfell impression now. 'George, don't do that'
  • I'm sure I will find it less tiring as time goes on. I'm still getting used to the routine. It will definintely be easier when I've learnt all their names and got an idea of their personalities. I'm learning a few new names every day though, so I'm getting there :).

But I am still enjoying it which is the main thing and the time flies by when I'm there :).

So pleased you enjoy your job, always a bonus. I've only ever had one job I didn't enjoy, needless to say I didn't stay long.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Loved that - her tone of voice just cracked me up !

I'm sure the tiredness is another of those things that improves over time - however, just in case, am sending a little of my excellent immune system over the aether :rotfl:

Thanks SA :). It is very important to enjoy it as we spend so much time at work.

  • DS2 is going abroad again today :(. I always miss him when he's away. But he loves going and it does wonders for his confidence so I am pleased for him as well :). At least it will only be for a month this time and by the time he gets back DS3 should be home from uni :).

DH and I will see him off at the coach station this morning and then I'll have to dash home and get ready for work.

The weather looks dry at the moment, so fingers crossed that it stays that way!

    Have a good Tuesday everyone.
