I didn't meet stepdad for coffee today as he was busy. But aunt and uncle messaged after I arrived in town to say they were on their way in and would I still be there when they arrived. So I suggested we meet up for coffee. We chatted over coffee and scones for nearly two hours which was nice and Uncle insisted on paying
. DH and I must insist that we pay next time we see them. They've been being very kind to me since my mum died.
I managed to find some black jeans in the sale which I can use for work when I'm doing my paid job only (I think black jeans look smarter than blue ones). I also found a couple of tops in the sale that will be useful for work. I've spend my first week's wages now so I feel a bit guilty
, but now I'm going in every day I'll need more clothes. I should be able to use the rest of my wages for bills and savings from now on
.
Then I bought some more echinaceas tablets and some sun block for my face (needed as I'll be outdoors for an hour every lunchtime as I burn very easily ). After that I got bananas, tomatoes, bagels and rich tea biscuits for DH in Mr T which came to about £6 I think.
It's been a slightly spendy day today so I must reign it back in from now on

Great you found some jeans. I agree black jeans look smarter.
I'm glad you had a coffee treat with your aunt and uncle.
I don't think you were over-spendy, just a few treats and some necessary work spends
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hi Hairy! Finally caught up with you and I'm so pleased that everything is going so well for you workwise.
I agree with the others in that I dont think you've frittered any money away. You will need some work clothes now so the spends went on what is needed.
And glad you enjoyed the hours spent with your family today.

Don't feel guilty, you need work clothes and it's not as if you've gone mad and bought a whole new wardrobe. I've got a few pairs of coloured jeans, including black, which do look smarter I agree.
So pleased you're enjoying your job :j
For some reason this reminded me of when I got my first ever pay packet at the age of 16 - I spent most of it on records at the local record shop, I was their best customer, I was in there every week on payday
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
