  • Thank you Carboot :). I've had some great suggestions from everyone :).

I've decided that Mr Bump would be a good costume :rotfl: because I have a tee shirt in that exact shade of blue which I could wear with my blue jeans. Then I'd only have to buy bandages to wrap around my middle and head :rotfl:

Excellent! Cheap too:j. Everyone knows Mr Bump so it should be a fun one to wear. Maybe you could even use loo roll instead of bandages if funds are tight but knowing the rate your family get through the loo roll you might not have enough left:rotfl:. Bandages will be more sturdy and can always be reused.

I was thinking maybe Mr Greedy isn't such a good idea for a woman. A cushion up your jumper would just make you look pregnant:eek:

:rotfl: on the loo roll situation !!! Mr Bump will be great and easily recognised.

We went to a Haven caravan park in Normandy once and they had a fancy dress competition. It's not like you have much to work with without any advance warning. Anyway, DD1 went as Nancy Drew (they both have red hair) in the Hidden Window Mystery, for which she dressed in ordinary clothes and declared that it was obvious she was Nancy Drew because she felt like her ! DD2 (aged 3) went as the ghost in the same story, wrapped up in a sheet and won 2nd prize.

I've finished my first full week at work :T. I'm feeling very tired but I did enjoy it :). I feel like I've learnt a lot too, and I'm sure I'll keep learning because no day is the same when you work with children. I did my volunteering in the classroom first and we had a noseblood in class, usually the first aid is needed in the playground :rotfl:. I'm learning lots of new playground games too.

I feel as if I need to buy a couple of accessories for my new job. I want to buy some cheap black jeans to wear when I'm just going in for my paid job, as I don't want to ruin my nice Fatface ones (I dress a bit smarter when I'm in the classroom first). I also want to buy a small fluorescent tabard as mine is a large size and you could fit two of me inside it :rotfl:.

It was really sunny again today and I forgot my sunglasses because it was dull when I left home. I can't get used to these sudden changes in the weather!

Would the school not provide a smaller size tabbard?

Dont go buying a tabard - pin it smaller (safety pins of course) if you cant be bothered sewing it otherwise ask the school for a smaller one as beanie says?

I would also have a small bag/bumbag or hand bag or even a plastic bag for now - with stuff you might need - sunnies, rain poncho?, hat? Light scarf for windy days? Small water bottle, sweeties for energy host? Etc etc then you just grab that as you go out the door and it's got everything you need and you dont have to remember or think every day?
