Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I feel completely shattered right now. I felt like crying earlier on, I was so tired
.
I've been doing too much today
. I rang tax credits in the morning to tell them about my new job. I also emailed my tutor to say that the day we'd arranged for the visit isn't ideal for the school, so needs to be changed. Then I was going to sit down and rest my sore feet for an hour before I went to work, but DH asked me to iron his shirt
. So I only managed to sit down for half an hour before I left for work.
It was enjoyable at work again today but it's very hard work physically and mentally. I'm sure it will get easier as I get accustomed to it, but I am finding it completely exhausting at the moment
.
By the time I'd finished work and walked home I felt like sitting down for the rest of the day, but we needed food. So DH and I went to Mr T and did the weekly food shop. On the way home I realised that it had been a big mistake, as by the time I'd unpacked all the shopping I felt so tired I could have cried
.
Anyway I've decided that from now on I want to do an online shop in the term time. So next week we'll order it online on Tuesday to be delivered on Wednesday. That will save my poor feet a bit and give me a chance to recover from work.
Does anyone have any advice for making sore feet less sore? Anyway at least I'm getting paid so it's definitely worth it

I got given some more paperwork by the people in the office today.
There was a form in case I wanted to opt out of the pension, but I'm going to take the advice of the clever people on here and stay opted IN to the pension, so I'll give the form back to them tomorrow
.
I also need to get a new DBS certificate  as I'm paid now and not a volunteer. But apparently the school will pay for it this time :T. I need to log on to their website though and register and then send off my passport, etc. I thought I'd do that tomorrow afternoon. At least I can sit down while I do it and rest my feet!
I also need to chase up my second referee, but I know she does a twelve hour day in the week, so I'm sure she's going to do it at the weekend. I thought I might give her a gentle reminder on Friday evening. My class teacher wrote me a reference the evening of the same day that I asked her, which was very nice of her

Bathe your feet in a bowl of warm water if possible. Also, ibuprofen will help reduce any swelling. If you are able to, elevate your feet by resting them on a cushion when you do manage to get some sofa rest XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

. I'm not really used to having such sore feet. I'm more used to office work. Although I found office work very dull and I'm enjoying this a lot more, my feet aren't used to it

I think this is true of anywhere & can make working even in the worst jobs much more pleasant. It seems to be something a lot of employers seem to forget now.
I know that in a neighbouring area they have real trouble with their bin men. So everyone is in a bad mood before they show up. I've never had any problem with ours, I mean why blame a bin man for not showing up when I can't drive my own car up the road. If I see them I always smile, say hello & thank you. They are always cheerful, helpful, I can see no reason to disrespect them, so why should I? Unfortunately some people don't seem to be able to help themselves! It makes all our lives poorer.0 -
We have a delivery from Mr T and I love it. My shopping bill is coming down gradually because I can take things out of the basket if I think it's too much, rather than putting extras in as we walk around and then getting a shock at the til :rotfl:
Do you have a problem with your feet generally or are they just sore from standing/walking around at work? I think peppermint foot baths are supposed to be good for tired aching feet and in Poundstretcher I've seen peppermint epsom salts - 450g for £1.
I'm sure you're doing much better in your job than you think you are and as the weeks go by you'll get to know the children better and the best way to deal with them. xx0 -

It does seem sensible to do it online, at least in the term time
.

My feet are normally fine but I've been using them a lot more than I'm used to
.
I agree that it might be easier to avoid going over budget with the online shop
.
I think I'm doing okay in the job, but I just occasionally doubt myself
