Work clothes are a necessity unfortunately, and you deffo need sunblock working outside.

I'm sure you will get through the probationary period, although it can be a worrying time. x

    Happy new jeans :)

Thanks Beanie :). They were half price, my size and even in a short fitting so I won't have to take them up :T. It was meant to be :rotfl:

Don't feel guilty, you need work clothes and it's not as if you've gone mad and bought a whole new wardrobe. I've got a few pairs of coloured jeans, including black, which do look smarter I agree.

So pleased you're enjoying your job :j

For some reason this reminded me of when I got my first ever pay packet at the age of 16 - I spent most of it on records at the local record shop, I was their best customer, I was in there every week on payday :)

I'd better stay away from the shops after this or that could be me but with clothes .

I had a Saturday job on a make up counter for a few weeks when I was a teenager and I must have spent half my wages on make up and then I got the sack for not selling enough make up. I didn't want to persuade people to buy things they didn't want :o :rotfl:.

Thank you Nicnak :). I'm certainly going to try my best to do an excellent job :).

With my first pay packet I bought a Laura Ashley blouse.
I loved that blouse & wore it to it death & until it fell to bits.

Well done on finishing your first week in your new job Hairy,I have suggestions for your feet
Epsom salts in a bowl of warm water used as a foot soak, you can buy a bag in Boots quite cheap

Boots also do a peppermint cooling foot cream that is very soothing,I use this everyday especially if I've been at work and itmsorts my feet out,I'm not sure how much it is but it's not expensive

I also use something called Pernaton Gel from Holland and Barret,it's a Gel that's designed to be used for aching muscles and joints and I use it to relieve pain all over my body,it's also cools the area down so its helpful if your feet are hot or burning,my feet burn quite a lot and ache really badly sometimes and this sorts them out straight away,it's not cheap for a big tube but the smaller one isn't too bad and you don't need loads so it lasts quite a while
Out of these three options though I would pick the Epsom salts,I bath with them sometimes and I always feel so relaxed after,it's lovely

Skechers shoes are really comfy but shop around becasue they vary a lot in price,I got my latest pair on Amazon and saved £30
    Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,894
  • Thank you OBL :). That's some very good advice :).

We're working on my business today. I'd rather relax and read my book, but DH and I made a commitment to ourselves to do this so it has to be done! Hopefully it will pay off in the end. I managed to clean out the furry moron first thing though and wash some of DS2's clothes :T.

Tomorrow morning I have volunteering and then my job at lunch time.

I've decided to skip Pilates tomorrow evening because DS2 is going to Greece on Tuesday :( and I don't want to miss spending any time with him. Plus there may be things that we need to do to help him get ready. I always worry about him when he goes abroad and look forward to him coming home again :o but I know it's what he wants so I would never try to stop him. Anyway in four weeks time DS3's term will finish and about a week after that DS2 will get back from abroad :).

It's very wet and windy out with leaden grey skies  so at least it's appealing to stay indoors today :). Although I want to nip out briefly at lunchtime to buy a tabard and some more diet cokes.

Good idea to skip Pilates tomorrow especially after your volunteering and job immediately afterwards. You may be feeling pretty tired by the time Pilates time comes round. Also, it will be nice to spend as much time with DS as you can, not just doing last-minute things to help him on his way but just to enjoy his presence.

It's going to be pretty quiet in your house for the next few weeks with 2 sons away. Maybe you'll get a bit more relaxation time in ready for them both coming back in a few weeks time. Plus, you've that Mr Bump costume to make and the PPI claims to finalise;)

I noticed on TV that the South West is experiencing the worst of Storm Freya (I think that's what the latest one's called). We had a really blustery night with things blowing about all over the place. OH got up twice during the night to see what he needed to secure but didn't stay out too long as it was raining and cold even for him:rotfl:. It's still dull and drizzly today but the wind has dropped. Our TV aerial attached to the chimney is at a very precarious angle but always has been so we just hope it stays put whenever there's a storm. With our other problems we don't want that to come crashing down:eek:
