  • Well we've dropped DS2 at the coach station and he's gone off on his coach to Bristol airport. He seemed very grumpy this morning, so I didn't dare to ask if I could take his photo :(.

But last night he seemed in a good mood. DH suggested a takeaway as it was his last evening and he sat and ate it with us (which is very unusual) and even watched a tv programme with us (which again is very unusual) :).

DH thought he might be nervous about his trip and he was obviously tired as he kept yawning. This is also his first trip abroad since my mum died and since DS3 went to uni, so maybe that is making DS2 a bit moody.

Anyway I'm sure the trip will cheer him up and give him a fresh perspective. Speaking for myself, my new job and course are doing wonders for distracting me from feeling sad about my mum, etc. So I think this trip is probably just what DS2 needs as a distraction.

The house will seem quiet without him though. It's lucky I need to leave for work soon as that will distract me!

I enjoyed work again today :). I think if I'd stayed at home I would have felt quite sad and melancholy after DS2 going off on the coach, but working with the children has completely changed my mood :). It was raining but only lightly so the children played outside, which suited me. I don't mind being out in the rain as long as I've got my raincoat on. I've found another use for my tabard, an extra layer to keep me warm and dry :rotfl:.

This afternoon I want to do our online Mr T order to be delivered tomorrow. I also need to update my cv with my new job :D and upload it to my online college portfolio along with a photo. Tomorrow afternoon I need to get started on my second assignment as I don't want to leave it to the last minute.

I've already chucked a wash in the machine and I can really get ahead with the laundry with DS2 and DS3 away. It's going to be dirty laundry hell when they both get back though .

It's good that work is helping you to take your mind off things. Will DS keep in touch with you throughout his trip or is it a case of waving goodbye and then waiting for him to return home?

I have washing on the line and although there's been a couple of showers it's drying more than it's getting wet so it's staying out there :D

Hope you've managed to put your feet up for half an hour and had a brew. xx
  • Thanks TF2 :). DS2 is pretty good at keeping in touch while away and will usually answer a message every day, although it's often a one word answer :rotfl:. But as long as I hear from him then I know he's okay so I'm happy. He also usually messages us for advice when he's moving from one city or hostel to another.

My washing is staying indoors today as the weather is varying from light rain to heavy rain . I was lucky it was only light rain while I was working :T.

  • Hi Hairy,

Safe travels for DS2, I'm sure he'll have a wonderful time.

Glad that the rain wasn't too heavy at work but boo to it being heavy now. We've only had light rain in Swindon...chances are it'll come down really heavy on the motorway home.

  • Glad you had a good day at work, HH. As you say, it was good to have something to divert your mind from DS going away:beer::beer:

I hope you manage to get a delivery slot for your Tesco order with not leaving much time between order and delivery. Whenever I do an online order, either at Asda or usually Morrisons I can never get a delivery slot for the next day:(.

The weather has been really nice here today, a blue sky for most of it and just a gentle breeze. Not a raindrop in sight all day so I managed to get a lot of washing dry outside:j. It was quite chilly though and now the sun is sinking it's getting really cold.

Thanks Purplemum :). I hope your rain doesn't get any heavier.

Thanks Carboot :). You're very lucky with your weather. We usually manage to get a next day slot for Mr T, but we're not that far from them.
