    Mortgage-free Glee!
An assessment as Mr Bump is hilarious! I hope it went well and you can laugh about it for many years!

  • I doubt you imagined the tutor's statement, but I do see that having an assessment in fancy dress would be a bit weird ! Must be difficult to be yourself under the unusual circumstances. Still, when you ask and discover that in fact it did go fine, you can be assured you can cope with anything !!!

Thanks Elizabeth, I suppose you're right, if the assessment went well then I can cope with anything :rotfl:.

It was funny, but the funniest thing was that once work started in the classroom all the children behaved as if the adults were dressed normally :rotfl:.

  • I enjoyed a nice normal day at work today :). Everyone was dressed normally and there were no assessments, which was certainly less tiring :).

I've completed my second week at work and I'm feeling much more confident in the role now. I'm still enjoying it too which is important. I'd rather supervise a game of football on a cold day than work in an office I've discovered, so an active job obviously suits me :T. I really enjoy the work in the classroom too :T.

I'm clocking up the steps too. It's only a ten minute walk to get there, but that's twenty minutes of brisk walking a day and plenty of rushing around when I'm there. I feel like I must be getting fitter :j.

I want to start my assignment today, but I feel quite tired so I'll see how I feel. I've still got two weeks before I need to hand it in so I don't have to do it today. I just like to be ahead if I can.

I feel like I'm not on top of our money at the moment though :o, so if I don't start my assignment then I might look at our online accounts and see how much money we have and which bills have been paid. I've been to busy to monitor it for the past couple of weeks. I'm not spending anything when I'm at work though, so the only spendy days are Saturday and our food shop on Wednesday.

Just winding back a bit, I don't for one minute think you'll have imagined what your tutor said. I'm sure you've done really well. :)

Whether you decide to look at your money or start your assignment both are productive jobs but for now I'd put your feet up and have a few minutes rest. You might only be at work for less than a couple of hours but having to be totally focused on lots of little people is hard work. xx
  • Thanks TF2 :). I was feeling a bit mommered during the tutor visit so it's hard to remember exactly what she said.

I have to admit to not starting my assignment or doing accounts this afternoon :o. I have put some towels on to wash and emptied and refilled the dishwasher, but apart from that I've been glued to the sofa feeling too tired to move :o.

I'm sure I'll feel more energetic tomorrow, but you're right, looking after between 30 and 45 children is tiring. You're constantly scanning the crowd to check they're all okay and sorting out constant disputes (usually between the same children who lack social skills). You need eyes in the back of your head . But in addition to that you can have some lovely conversations with some of the children and some genuinely funny and heart warming moments. So It's worth the tiredness :).

I worked from 8.55am to 1.15pm today too, so it was one of my longer days. That doesn't sound very long at all, but it feels like a long time!

    Hi,

Glad the tutor visit went well. I am sure the assessment was fine and she did say those words. We didn't dress up in our school, but as we're dealing with students who can't cope in a normal school, I can't imagine they would respond well to us trying to teach them dressed up!

Little one went as Mary Poppins.
You will get into a routine with regards jobs and assignments. it starts to get easier once you get into a routine after a few weeks. It sounds like you are having fun though.

Are you off for your Saturday saunter today? It is cold here, and windy so not sure what I will do with little one, if anything other than games inside. x
