I don't know why so many of us seem programmed to find change unsettling. It must be lovely just to take things in your stride. I find I have to keep telling myself that whatever the current normal is, well I jibbed at it too at first, and it WILL seem easier after a while. OH knows not to expect an unqualified enthusiasm for change, but if he gives it a bit of time to 'percolate', I'm usually ok.

Mr daisy is like this- has been since a wee bairn apparently as his mum told me he used to cry when she told him it was time to put his downie cover into the wash....every time :rotfl::rotfl: he doesn't do that nowadays (or hides it better maybe??) but every year when we go 3 rounds as I try to prise his smelly old slippers out his hands to swap them for the new ones Santa has brought, i have to remind him this pair hes clinging onto were the pair he didnt want last time :rotfl:

I really hope all goes swimmingly tomorrow.

I've just come back from a w/e with DD1 and DSIL, most of which was lovely, but their beds are awful !!! It was bad enough when I was ok, but with chronic back pain I'm worried if I 'leap around' in the night the bed slats will spring out (they HAVE done before!). Not only did I wake up a myriad of times to change position and be treated to OH doing pig imitations, but as their beds are lower than ours, I have to pull myself up by hanging on to the handles of the cross-trainer by the bedside. I hadn't realised before but their loo seats are lower than ours too - a fact you only appreciate when you have to hang on to things (door handle, towel rail etc) to sit down !!

But the weather was fabulous !

It is strange isn't it how change is unsettling even when it's a change for the better. I can usually talk myself into feeling positive about most changes, but at the moment so many things have changed in my life in the last seven months that I'm struggling a bit.

  to uncomfortable beds and OH's pig impressions! Can you drop a few hints about the beds or would you be worried about offending DD1 and DSIL? Could you offer to buy DD1 a new guest bed? Just a thought. It's so lovely visiting our children but you'd enjoy it even more if you had a good night's sleep :).

Aaawwww how sweet, poor Mr Daisy being so attached to his smelly slippers :rotfl:. How long does it take him to get used to his new ones from santa? :rotfl:.

My first day went well and the first day has to be the worst surely? I did my usual volunteering first and then left five minutes early to swop roles. I'm supervising a different year group than on my trial, but they include the class I volunteer with which is nice :). It was busy and hectic but fun. I handed in my new starter forms and photos to the office and was told that they looked fine. I don't have my staff id yet, I'm still using a visitor one, but maybe I'll get the proper one tomorrow.

Now I need to rest my feet (and my ears) before the mayhem begins again tomorrow :rotfl:. I can have a lie in tomorrow though as I don't have to go in until lunchtime.

It was cold walking in this morning but by lunch time it was boiling hot, so I was definitely wearing too many layers .

The best thing about today is that I've earnt some money :T :j :T :j :T :j :T  :money:
