Hope your feeling a little less unsettled today HHD. Your Mum has only recently passed so it must still be very hard for you and obviously the stepdad saga last weekend hasn't helped. :(

I'm sure you'll be fine at work tomorrow. It will no doubt all seem odd at first but on the positive side you know the school, some of the staff and some of the children already. Best of luck. xx

Thanks TF2 :). I feel a bit unsettled again now it's the end of the day, but my mood always dips a bit as soon as it starts to get dark :(. I do seem to have emotional ups and downs, which I know isn't really surprising with all that's been going on in my life recently. DS2 going abroad again soon isn't helping either :(.

But I'm sure I'll feel better once I start my new job, as the children always cheer me up and the staff are friendly, so it's a positive environment and just what I need :). Spending time with nice people always cheers me up I find, whether it be family, friends, or even a shop assistant.

  • Thanks Carboot :).

My job is only an hour and a half a day, but I'll be doing my usually volunteering first so I'll be busy all morning. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I'll need to get used to another new normal now I have a job with the knock on effects on the rest of my activities, but it's a very good change in my life :).

I do have a tendency to over analyse everything but I can't seem to help it :o. Anyway I'm convinced that this particular change in my life is going to be a very positive one :).

I don't know why so many of us seem programmed to find change unsettling. It must be lovely just to take things in your stride. I find I have to keep telling myself that whatever the current normal is, well I jibbed at it too at first, and it WILL seem easier after a while. OH knows not to expect an unqualified enthusiasm for change, but if he gives it a bit of time to 'percolate', I'm usually ok.

I really hope all goes swimmingly tomorrow.

I've just come back from a w/e with DD1 and DSIL, most of which was lovely, but their beds are awful !!! It was bad enough when I was ok, but with chronic back pain I'm worried if I 'leap around' in the night the bed slats will spring out (they HAVE done before!). Not only did I wake up a myriad of times to change position and be treated to OH doing pig imitations, but as their beds are lower than ours, I have to pull myself up by hanging on to the handles of the cross-trainer by the bedside. I hadn't realised before but their loo seats are lower than ours too - a fact you only appreciate when you have to hang on to things (door handle, towel rail etc) to sit down !!

But the weather was fabulous !
