  • I hope you're enjoying your walk and the company. You've had a stressful few days with the PPI, job trial and interview so some time in the fresh air will do you good. Such a lovely time of year for a walk, the weather here is glorious today:j

Your Saturday sounds like a nice profitable one all things considered:T. I'm so pleased that you found something inexpensive to treat yourself with. The DVDs will give you and the family a lot of pleasure:beer:. I love nice mugs too but often find I have too many for the small shelf where I keep them:(. I'm always taking nice mugs to charity shops or selling them. I sold 5 at the Table Top sale yesterday, lovely ones but just oddments. I'm not bothered about having matching sets but I like to have something nice for if we have company. OH has a favourite that was a freebie promotional one from a limestone company that had an open day years ago. His other favourite is a 'Happy Easter' mug that came with an Easter egg inside that he won in a raffle about 20 years ago:rotfl:. He uses them all the year round. At least my nice ones are safe;)

    Thank you Carboot :).

    Thank you Cumbria :).

The weather become dry and bright by lunchtime. It was nice to see my nephews and other family members. But I didn't enjoy the walk because it was very awkward :(. It was upsetting seeing my stepdad with his new lady friend and it didn't help that they were holding hands at times :(.

Anyway it's over now and I won't be in a hurry to repeat the experience. I saw my nephews, which is the important thing because I only see them once or twice a year.

Getting a foot in the door of anywhere is worth its weight in gold,I started off at 15 hours week in my job cleaning the corridors of my hospital, now I'm looking after patients and doing all sorts of things I would never have dreamed of, I worked my way up to my job I have now and also increased my hours to full time along the way, nowdays although I've had to cut my hours for my health I'm happy with the way things are going

I am sooooo pleased for you, hearing this news has seriously made my day

Thank you OBL :). I do see it as a foot in the door because it's hard to get jobs in schools, so I'm really delighted about it :D.

After they offered me the job, every time they used the words staff id or member of staff I was 'yipeeeing' internally thinking that's me :D.

I think everyone but stepdad found it very awkward :(. I'm committed to a meal for stepdad's birthday in a couple of weeks, but after that I'm going to keep my distance from him and her together. It's just too soon and it's very upsetting :(.

  • I feel shattered now! I didn't sleep very well last night because I was excited about my job and dreading the walk today. Which was a weird combination of feelings :o.

This morning we did a bit of work on my business, had a bite to eat, then met the others for the walk. In a minute we're gong to do a bit more work on my business.

I think I'll be ready for bed after that! It's lucky it's half term.

Sounds like it's been an emotionally tough day for you HHD. I think your step-dad could have been a bit more switched on and aware of your feelings re. holding hands. :(

I've probably missed you saying, but do you start your job after half term? xx
  • It did seem a bit insensitive them holding hands TF2, but he's behaving like a love struck teenager at the moment :(.

Yes I start my new job the Monday after half term :).

Definitely, your step dad could have thought a little more about the situation yet he’s not thinking about anyone else’s feelings at the moment.. Also the lady friend must be totally oblivious. I appreciate everyone is different yet I do feel she was being highly insensitive towards you and your family!
I feel grumpy and upset for you HH... Wide berth for a while me thinks and if you are asked why then please be honest, say it hurts you to see the physical affection (ie hand holding) at the moment..
    Sending a hug your way..
