  • That's really lovely:heart2:
Looking at the photos will make you sad and joyful and nostalgic and melancholy and occasionally just catch your breath for a moment - all these things: we are privileged to have known such love.

Photos I inherited from my Aunt include one of my parents on their wedding day and one of her as bridesmaid. Not only are they wonderful in themselves, but it also reminds me that they had a life BEFORE my brother & myself !!
Thanks Elizabeth :). Photos are a precious reminder and I'm glad I took so many photos of my mum. It's lovely that you have some of your parents' wedding.

  • Good news on tax rebate HHOD. Both DH and I have received one each after moving from salary to pension over the last few years. We both claimed online and it took around a week. It went straight into our account.

Thanks ES :). Fingers crossed it will come in a week.
Just had a quick catch-up and saw the fantastic news about the tax rebate, HH:j:T:dance:_party_. No wonder you and DH are so delighted. I'm thrilled on your behalf:)

I remember from your past posts that you were doubtful that you'd get a tax rebate but now you have:j. You're also doubtful that you'll get any PPI refunds and it just goes to show that these sort of things are totally possible. Once you've come back down to earth;), go for it!

Good things are starting to come your way now, the tax rebate, DH finally printing off your photos and I'm sure there are others but it's late and I'm a bit dopey. Here's to the momentum keeping going:beer:
Thanks Carboot :). It is very good news and will buy a lot of time. I'm still going to claim the PPI refunds on Monday. I'm not confident about the PPI but as you say I was doubtful about the tax rebate, so who knows :).

  • This morning I have my course. I didn't sleep very well, partly because of nerves about the course, partly because of excitement about the tax rebate and partly because of other emotional upsets that have been going on.

Hopefully after this morning I can gain a bit of equilibrium. Things are looking much more positive on the money front at least and I don't have to worry about whether I can afford the text book for the course :).

  • I know you won't see and read this for a while, HH, but wanted to post before I forget what I wanted to say:rotfl:

I remember you posted a list of accounts that you might have had PPI on so I've trawled through to ftind it again. It was 11 pages ago. This thread is moving so fast:eek:

I wanted to check if you mentioned ever having an Egg credit card. You just say you had 8 cards so I don't know if you did. They were taken over by Barclays and everyone I know of has been paid out on a PPI refund claim on the old Egg card:j. I hope you had one of those:beer:. Sadly, I didn't:(. One of the few I never had:o

My course went fine. The teacher and the other students seemed nice. We did the boring part of the course today all about school structure and policy, yawn, so I'm looking forward to next month's session which is about child development. I've got an assignment to do which seems fairly straightforward and I have a whole month in which to do it :T. I was very diplomatic and didn't point out that the teacher had spelt grammar wrong :rotfl:.

This afternoon DH and I need to nip to the accountants and sign our accounts, so they can be submitted to the tax office and the rebate requested. After that I want to work out our household accounts and see how much we owe and to who, so that I can distribute the money when it arrives :T.

I hope everyone is having a good Friday :)
