Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

The friend I messaged has replied and wants to meet up the week after next, so I'm pleased about that. Our last contact was by message over a year ago, but we haven't actually seen each other for about nine years I think, since our kids were at the same primary school! We just need to arrange a place now.
I've also found that the pilates class I used to go to years ago is still running. It's just down the road in a church hall and is an after work drop in session for £5. That seems affordable so I think I will go to the next class. It runs on a Monday and a Wednesday so I could go to either ( I can't afford both). I have my own yoga mat that I bought years ago and some tracksuit trousers so I won't need to buy any kit. It will help me to meet new people and I enjoy pilates. I only stopped going before due to money/time issues.
So progress is being made at increasing my social circle. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Happy anniversary
You're doing better than you think. At least you're making plans to do things and see people. That's a good sign. Your mum would want you to be happy I'm sure you know that.
It will get easier honestly it just takes time xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Thanks all.
So many ups and downs at the moment. You're right SA that my mum would want me to be happy. It's not easy but I am trying to be less sad and I know getting out and doing things will help. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

De-lurking to say that a bereavement group may be a very good idea. We lost my Mum last year and I know Dad (although initially sceptical) found the local hospice-run group very helpful and has made some new friends. He says it's a combination of being able to talk about things and being able to enjoy each other's company without having to talk about your losses all the time, if that makes sense.
Grief is such a strange thing. I feel as if I did most of my grieving before Mum died as she was terminally ill (cancer). I'm still waiting for another level of grief to hit me, but perhaps it never will.0 -
Thanks for delurking Glenda. I will try to find a bereavement group. I rang the local Cruse number but got an answer machine. So I thought I'd email them on Monday during office hours. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

A bereavement group sounds like a very good idea. I hope you find one within reasonable distance:beer:
Incidentally, I've just come back from having my final injection at my GP surgery and noticed there was a small poster in the waiting room giving details of a local bereavement group. Maybe your surgery will have something similar on their waiting room wall. Worth checking anyway, especially if DH is going there again soon and could take down details for you.0 -
Evening HHOD,
Just caught up from your posts over the last couple of days, I felt really sad for you reading about how upset you had been the other daymassive hug coming over your way.
Then I read SA's post and I agree you are doing better than you think and you are absolutely doing the right thing by arranging things.
I was also going to suggest your doctors surgery for the bereavement group.
Hope you're ok xxMummytogirls x0
