  • Mind you I can't talk, I did a parachute jump when I was 22 and my mum nearly had kittens :rotfl::eek:

Wow! That's brave. Well done:T:beer:. Parachute or bungee jumping would finish me off:eek:

I've promised myself that when I'm finally debt free (if I'm not so old by then that they daren't take the H&S risks with me:rotfl:) I'm going to treat myself to a hot air balloon flight. I've wanted to do it for so long now but OH won't come and has sort of dampened my enthusiasm over the years (that's when I could afford to go of course) with his tales of disasters on these flights. I'll be going on my own, I've no intention of letting anyone's doom and gloom spoil it for me.

My Mum lived in a very scenic area and her garden was on the flight path of lots of balloon flights. When I visited her I used to love sitting in her garden with a cup of tea on lovely sunny days and watching them come over.
  • My delightful DS has done sky dives, bungee jumping and scuba diving. All were taken up post recovery from a broken back. The brat is determined to reduce my life expectancy.

I'm awake at silly o clock again :(. DS2 and DS3 are on the shuttle bus en route to the airport. We felt we should set the alarm just to check they were okay and remembered passports etc. Once they get to the airport we could go back to sleep for a bit as their plane isn't due for a few hours.

Sounds good, HH:T. I hope you did manage s bit of sleep after being up so early.

Will they be coming straight home this time or staying with their kind uncle who helped them on the outward journey?

I'm glad your DH was reassured about his heart valve not needing to be operated on:j. Pity he needs to up his meds though but prevention is always better than cure;). I hope he's more organised at taking them than my OH who has a mass of pills to take for this and that including a couple of thyroid pills which have to be taken without fail.. He's drawn up a chart which he ticks off but he either loses it (doesn't use technology and won't put it on the wall either) or forgets to cross things off even when he's actually taken something. I keep well away from it, his system ( or more like lack of one:rotfl:) baffles me. Luckily the borderline diabetes investigation he had told him that he is quite a bit under the borderline and his unnecessary panic and visit to be assessed was a total waste of the NHS's overstretched time and money:(

  • Hiya Hairy,

You've certainly been on the go recently! Hope DH takes the doc's advice.

Hope that you managed to get some sleep and that the DS's are safely on the way home.

No way would I do a bungee jump but I'd love to do a parachute jump xx

I did a balloon flight with my dad for his 80th birthday and it was an unforgettable experience :T. You just need to be agile enough to climb in and out of the basket, which luckily my dad was. You should definitely do it Carboot.

Our DC's main job is to increase our stress levels to sky high proportions, a task at which they excel  .

He's a bit erratic at taking his tablets but I try to remind him . I'm glad your OH isn't diabetic.

The parachute jump was amazing and unforgettable, I'm really glad I did it. When DH and I did it in 1986 you didn't do it tandem, so we did it solo even though it was our first time .

We had a static line so the chute opened automatically and we were trained how to deploy our reserve chute if the main one failed . On the way down someone was shouting instructions at us through a megaphone, but I couldn't hear a word they were saying :rotfl: .

DS2 and DS3 are on their way home from London on the coach . DH's sister met them at the airport and took them somewhere for lunch and then dropped them at her local train station :T.

They didn't sleep last night so must be shattered! They don't arive until after after midnight, so a late night for DH and me, after our disturbed night last night :(. But it will be so nice to see them again :D :j :T.
