Sleep's a weird thing: I was awake an hour before I usually get up yesterday - could I get back to sleep ? Could I heck. So last night, I go to bed thinking I'll soon sleep and I lay awake for ages! I went to the loo to break the cycle of non-sleep, read a bit & finally got to sleep some time after 3am !!! Haven't noticed any lack of sleep today either.
Thanks Elizabeth. Maybe you weren't tired enough to sleep? Or perhaps your mind was overactive? It's surprising how well you can manage on about six hours but I always feel better if I have eight hours sleep.

Well today turned out differently than I expected!
I was going to go in for my lunchtime job and then volunteer in the afternoon, but I got a phone call at 8am to say the TA I've been covering for had been up all night being sick and could I cover for her today :j. I was still in bed  so I had a mad dash to get ready in 40 minutes and get there in time! So I was helping with Christmas play rehearsals this morning and painting calendars in a different class this afternoon. My feet hurt but an extra day's money will be very welcome at the moment. I don't know if I'll be needed tomorrow so I'll just wait and see.
It was a lovely sunny day today so I enjoyed supervising the children at lunchtime, I love working outdoors on days like this. I'm hoping DH will cook tonight as my feet feel really sore! 90p was spent on a coke on the way home as I forgot to take one, but luckily I had lunch in the fridge ready to take as I'd made it for Monday just in case and didn't need it in the end. So nothing was spent apart from that.
I hope everyone has had a good Tuesday.

Lots of bonuses there HHD - another day's pay, the chance to get some more experience, the knowledge that you're the first person they think of contacting to cover so you must be good at what you do and being able to take part in rehearsals and making calendars - Christmas activities are always fun.
There are so many germs going around at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't asked to step in again very soon. Not that I'm wishing illness on anybody
Have a lovely evening. xx0 -

Thanks TF2. It was a nice unexpected bonus and I am pleased that they asked me :T.
They only tend to ask someone to cover if it's for PPA or long term, otherwise they expect the teacher to manage without a TA, but luckily it was PPA today. You never know, someone else may be ill on a PPA day.

Thanks Nicnak. It's only an extra £40 after tax but on our low income that makes a big difference to us so it's a lovely bonus

Exactly. Some shopping, part bill, whatever, it all helps. I wouldn't turn down £40. It's great that they think of you first. Let's hope you get some more days like this as well. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Have caught up with your diary, you have been busy. I am sure your house looks very Christmassy now you have everything up.
How fab that you could help out at short notice , the school must have been very grateful that you could come in. I think it speaks volumes that they asked you first.
As for all the sickness , one school near a friend of mine shut for a couple of days last week owing to the number of teachers and children affected by illness .
Are you going for DS3 next weekend ?
I hope you sleep well tonight after your early morning call .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
Thanks Sunshine
. We should be collecting DS3 not this weekend but next weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing him again.
