Well done on all the hard work for your assignment
So pleased the observation went well
What a shame they can’t afford to employ you, maybe in future who knows. You’re building up trust and getting yourself a very good reputation and that’s a good stepping stone for the future xx

First of all my tutor visited me at school this morning to do my first observation for the level three course . It seemed to go well and my teacher said some really nice things about me to my tutor including that if the school had the budget they would employ me. So it's good to get that out of the way as it's always a bit stressful being observed and I had an anxiety dream about it last night
.
Lunchtime went well and was dry. Then when I got home I finished my assignment and emailed it to my tutor :T. It was 11,077 words in the end, which doesn't include a two page bibliography .
However I won't relax for too long as next week I need to start on my third assignment which is on Safeguarding. My plan is to finish it in the two weeks before I break up as which should be doable as I have more free time now I'm not doing the cover and then I'll have the Christmas holiday to do my fourth assignment. That way I'll feel like I'm really making some headway with this new course.
).
Very well done on completing your assignment, and the lovely comments from the teacher.
OH and I did a first today - we went to a school fete TOGETHER, at the primary school of DGS. DGS was thrilled to see us and jumped down the corridor like a kangaroo !!
OH doesn't really understand fetes! You decide on your 'donation' and then go and spend it on silly activities and cake.
When our 2 had school fetes, OH used to give a contribution and send us off without him so he didn't have to waste time on doing pointless things. Me - I still love fetes !
Brrr - it was cold today.0 -

Glad you had a good time, Elizabeth:T. Who knows, DH may have enjoyed it so much he'll be a regular at all future fetes;)
When our 4 children were young the infant and junior stages of the school were on the same 'campus' but completely separate entities. When some of the children were in the juniors and some in the infants we had a lot of fetes and events:rotfl:. Luckily, the 2 youngest are twins so that helped at fete times:j. DH loves fetes, sports days and suchlike which is a good job as my work and long commute meant I was hardly ever available for any event that started before 6.30 on a weekday (which a lot of them did:(). We always made sure one of us put in an appearance though and DH was more than happy to do it:j Once they reached secondary school stage the events where parents were invited seemed to dry up a lot or were in the evening.0 -

I'm so pleased to get observation out of the way and my assignment finished that I feel a bit shell shocked now with tiredness and relief. Tomorrow will be a walk in the park compared to today :rotfl:.

The house is a complete tip but I don't care because my priority is work, volunteering and my course. I can clean up the house in the holidays.
Our weather was weird today as there was a sort of pink mist first thing, but it brightened up later so that the children (and us) could have fun in the playground.
I hope everyone has had a good Thursday.
Brilliant result on the assessment, HHOD:T:j:beer:. Nothing less than totally deserved. Even if the school can't afford to offer you a paid post you have the satisfaction of knowing they value you highly and already see you as an essential part of the team:T. At the very worst (if a job doesn't come up I mean) they'll certainly give you a glowing reference which will help you 'walk into' any other TA post elsewhere should one come up. :T
On the subject of the house being a complete tip (and I bet it isn't, you should come and see mine this morning and I haven't the excuse of being out at work any more:o) can't one of the 3 adult males in the house give you a hand? It doesn't seem fair that you are wearing yourself out with paid work, volunteering and doing a course yet still have to do all the household chores (apart from DH cooking a meal once a week and occasionally ironing your trousers). You regularly mention emptying bins as something you need to do and I wondered why there's any reason why someone else can't do that. You are out most of the time so who generates all the stuff that fills these bins?
Sorry yet again for being so nosy:o. No offence meant xxx
Have a lovely Friday and try to put your feet up tonight:beer:0 -
Hi HHD
Well done on getting the assignment completed and the great comments from the class teacher. :T
Just one more week until the Uni ones will be home with us - although DD will stay at the house most of the time as it's easier for her to get to work but I'm hoping for a couple of overnight visits.
When does DS go back? DD said she's off until the end of January - surely that can't be right  xx0 -
Well done on finishing your assignment and having a positive observation, when I was doing my NVQ for this job I hated when my assessor had to observe me,I can do my job blindfolded but always became really cackhanded when being watched🙄Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8940

Well done with your observation- bet it was encouraging to hear the teachers words - especially employing you if they had the money. Who knows - maybe the fairytales all the politicians are throwing around about more cash for schools might just happen and they can employ you....but I’ll believe it when I see it.
I’m desperately trying to get sorted in case I go back to work on Wednesday. We break up on 20th but dh will be at home and I find it tricky doing things with him around - he distracts me :rotfl: then we’re heading to dds...so I need to shape myself or I’ll be on the night shifts:eek:
Thanks Milann. It would be lovely if schools were to get more money but like you'll I'll believe it when I see it!

Thanks Elizabeth. School fetes are strange affairs but the children love them

Thanks OBL. Yes I did feel a bit nervous when I was being observed and kept trying to pretend my tutor wasn't there!

A lot of my working life was in a clinical setting with one-way glass in huge windows along the side of the room. People could observe what was going on inside without me or anyone else being able to see out:eek:, like a police identity parade:rotfl:. I never seemed to get used to it somehow, I think I'd rather have known who was out there looking in and when.
You're still up quite late tonight, HHOD. I hope you manage to get a good night's sleep. You certainly deserve it:beer:0 -
Another busy day today!.
I drew and decorated an A3 bridge for a display at school this morning which was great fun.
Then during my lunchtime job I was asked if I would do cover this afternoon as a teacher was off sick :T. I hadn't brought my lunch with me because I was planning on being home for the afternoon, so I was thinking I'd have to waste ten minutes and £3 buying lunch. But then I had a brainwave as I remembered there was cake in the staffroom (as always) so I had a free slice of cake for lunch :rotfl:. Not very healthy but it was a free lunch and I only needed a five minute break to eat it, so I could spend more time earning money :money:.
I got home from school, had half an hour to get changed and have a snack and then we drove to a nearby town to meet aunt and uncle as they had invited us to go to Christmas fair there and go back to their house for a meal afterwards. The fair was quite good with stalls and street entertainers and we went into a church where they had a nice display of lighted Christmas trees :xmastree:.
So a very hectic day but I enjoyed it.
Moneywise I earnt about £20 doing my cover and we only spent £12 at the Christmas fair as all we bought were coffees for six people :money:. DH and I can window shop for Britain :rotfl:. I actually wasn't tempted to buy a single thing tonight as I feel like I'd rather earn money than spend it at the moment.
I hope everyone has had a good Friday.
