I've done one of the jars - the 'safe keeping' one.....found some card and managed, after a lot of fiddling, to get it the size of the tea light holder so it would sit inside. Taped it together and up the join, popped a glue dot on the bottom so it stayed put then consulted with OH about what dried stuff we had that we dont use (we'd been given a load couple of weeks back when some friend of ours moved abroad)..........so, funnel in hand so I didnt fill up the tube as well I filled it all up...............:T
Printed out the label from the website but shan't stick it on the jar........obvious for all to see whats in it if I do so I''ll stick it on a gift tag and tie it round the top. Have to think of a label of some sort for the jar though.
It's got a red lid but I'd like to cover it with some fabric...........got some blue stripey stuff and some rust with spots that were free samples and a blue check piece..........so, that'll be grandkids and son& girlfriend sorted out.................love it and how good to manage to do a pressie that cost absolutely nothing:T

Well done Mary43, yes u are absolutely right, it is so nice for a gift not to of cost anything to make, and I bet it will also be a present that will be treasured. I must have a go at one myself.

    WOW they are fab,
i always hate having sweets or cookies out in the open but christmas wouldnt be the same without them, these would be great as they look like christmas ornaments, you could make a dispaly out of them then eat the sweets and cookies.
    i love them.

Thanks Chris - beads would be ok for grandaughter..........or I did wonder about bath pearls then thought they might go 'off' or the colour fade. Thought the same about sweets..........grandchildren would rather eat them I''m sure but beads they wouldn't. Not sure grandson would like beads though. He'll be 16 at Christmas

I've actually finished the one I started !!! I've so many bits half done I really thought this would sit around for ages but I found a label on primdoodle free printables site, printed it off (after resizing it) and stuck it on............had a fabric sample in rust colour with a few spots on so cut that out (am thinking it would have been better bigger but never mind)-put elastic band round it and threaded little label saying what it was then finished it off with rust colour ribbon...........even OH was impressed !!
Decided to give this one to my sons girlfriend to keep in the kitchen for an 'emergency tenner' which I'll pop inside for her.
    Then its grandchildren..................
