This is one idea that I dont think we have thought of,
http://crafts.kaboose.com/nut-and-candy-cups.html
It wouldnt be christmas without some nuts!!! Although I am sure we could make it look a bit prettier than in that picture.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

I drive past a pub sometimes and written on the chalkboard outside it says "Warning May Contain Nuts" :rotfl::wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Another cheap gag gift I have just found ... an empty jar with the following printed on ...........
You say this jar is empty,
Well take another look!
This jar is filled with giggles,
In every little nook.
I put them there for you to save,
For when your life seems low.
So open up when times are sad,
And let my giggles flowA creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

Handbag pegs - just a bit of MDF I found laying about, ordered some shaker style pegs, going to paint it all off white and still handbag embellishments on it -just to let grandaughter know its somewhere to hand her bags............lolMary

I've done one of the jars - the 'safe keeping' one.....found some card and managed, after a lot of fiddling, to get it the size of the tea light holder so it would sit inside. Taped it together and up the join, popped a glue dot on the bottom so it stayed put then consulted with OH about what dried stuff we had that we dont use (we'd been given a load couple of weeks back when some friend of ours moved abroad)..........so, funnel in hand so I didnt fill up the tube as well I filled it all up...............:T
Printed out the label from the website but shan't stick it on the jar........obvious for all to see whats in it if I do so I''ll stick it on a gift tag and tie it round the top. Have to think of a label of some sort for the jar though.
It's got a red lid but I'd like to cover it with some fabric...........got some blue stripey stuff and some rust with spots that were free samples and a blue check piece..........so, that'll be grandkids and son& girlfriend sorted out.................love it and how good to manage to do a pressie that cost absolutely nothing:TMary

Where do you get your empty jars from?

OH's been hoarding empty sandwich spread jars for a friend of ours who was going to make jam but she's got enough she reckons so I'm left with small paste spread jars -not sure what to do with them, and the sandwich spread jars..........perfect size for the 'safety' idea.
Used an old honey jar for my pickled bums as it has a gold lid -ideal for christmas I thought.
Just have to think of a label now to put on the 'saftey place' jar............no good putting the one on thats on the website.........wouldn't be a secret hiding place then.Mary
