I'm thinking of making a gymnastics themed jar for a gym mad 6 year old, but am at a loss as to what to put in it?

I bought 1 litre jars to make my biscuits in a jar gifts but now I think they'll be far too big :-(

Does anyone know how long these type of gifts tend to last / how far in advance they can be made?
In regards to size of jar, I have a craft mag that says 750mls but I haven't tested yet so can't say for sure!

I would just 'chuck' it all in and hope but then if it doesn't fit and I had to take it all out it would ruin the layers.... Mind you I guess I could just use the ingredients for myself!
