  • Hi all, I've only read a couple of pages but there are some great ideas here.

I was already thinking of doing a sweet jar for friend but i love the retro sweets jar - great for my brothers and the cocoa one i will use for my nephew.... planning to go back and reread all the thread.

    Thank you

    Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas/links to 365 inspirational thoughts, funny quotes, love poems, jokes, jokes about computers, men, women, or other ideas!

I'd like to make jars for, couple expecting a baby, single bloke in his early 40's, and a female friend who needs cheering up!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

    Hi,
Don't know if this has already been mentioned as have not had time to read the whole thread, but thought this was a nice idea.

Not exactly a jar but a nice thrifty present good for those who don't want anything! Remembered the poem as my mum got one of these years ago, googled it and low and behold there are lots of sites with the idea. Just wrap a small box(make one out of card?) and wrap it up really nice with this poem on the front :)

This is a very special gift
    That you can never see.
The reason it's so special is,
It's just for you from me.
    Whenever you are happy,
    or even feeling blue.
    You only have to hold
    this gift and know
    I think of you.

    You never can unwrap it
    Please leave the ribbon tied.
    Just hold the box close
    to your heart,
    It's filled with love inside
    .

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post, I'm having a jar-filled Christmas this year, and saving a packet while doing so!

In the effort to find some way of making socks look more appealing, we've made "toe jam". Couple of pairs of socks in a jam jar, DD's have designed and coloured in lables (including bar code and Best before dates) and we've cut out some gingham to tie round the top.

Cheap and cheerful and will hopefully bring a smile to those who recieve them. :D

Just wanted to say - Thank you - my boys and I made a journal jar each for my parents from them, got some lovely embossed notebooks, well they loved it and were both in tears, they thought it was the best present they recieved because it was thoughtful but also because it showed that they boys were interested in their lives. I think that I am going to do one for each of my aunts for next Christmas
