OH will think I've completely lost the plot..................:rotfl: as for the kids we foster..well, I think they've already come to terms with it.............:rotfl:
I think my OH has already given up on me. Especially when he saw me wrapping more toilet rolls again :rotfl:

Didn't get around to the loo rolls so they'll have to be on next years list..............lol
Have done fairy in a jar though and very nice she looks too.
Flowers round the bottom, bits of glitter...............just need to re-write the poem now and put some sort of ribbon round it.

Then thats me done -well for now anyway. We're off tomorrow to do Santa Drop -back Monday

    Here you go ......
Money is scarce and times are hard,
So I'm giving you this, instead of a card.
Christmas cards are a bit of a farce,
But this will be handy, for wiping your .... nose!
    Or
I bought this little gift for you,
    I thought it was unique.
I bet you can't guess what it is,
    So trendy and so chic.
You'll never get caught short again,
Now that you have this chum.
    He's 'Charmin' and he's funny,
And he'll help you wipe your ... nose!

Just stumbled across this thread and am hooked. What great ideas you all have. I was printing out some labels for survival kits (for when your feeling blue) for my Mum who is making them for our Church christmas fair.

I have briefly read through the pages and a few people were asking for recipes based on UK measurements for the cookie mix jars. I saw the idea when I lived in Canada and I have been meaning to do these for years, but never get around to it!! Maybe next year!

If you go to this link http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Country-Oatmeal-Cookie-in-a-Jar/Detail.aspx it takes you to a particular recipe on the allrecipes.com website which I have used for years. I just did a search for cookie mix jars and got a load of recipes, but the best thing is, is that you can change the measurements to either US or Metric (grams) on any of the recipe. I also like to change the 'sort by' to rating... that way you get all the 5* then 4* etc recipes first. Hope that helps if not too late!

I love the journal jar ideas, and am thinking of doing an motivational/inspirational quotes jar for DH. I just hope my 3year old and 6month old give me the time to do it!

  • Just remembered something I did years ago as a joke. On an empty cardboard loo roll write the word DOO-BE-DO in large print

    The joke is,

Here you have your own doo-be-do. Intructions on how to use, put up to mouth and say the word doo-be-doo!

Now come on, was it only me as a kid that did that with the loo roll tube?! :rotfl:

Love all the ideas!!! Really trying to hold myself back from making anything else as I have so much to do! Thought I might make my best friend a sort of 'First year of Married Life' for part of her wedding present...anyone have any idea where I might be able to find some questions? Not really sure what kind of questions I should put in!
