My mum is going in for an operation soon and will be off work for 8 weeks so I thought a journal jar would be a nice way to keep her busy while she is off work and unable to do much.

Any idea of questions? never made one before

    thanks all

Have you seen this site... http://organizedchristmas.com/adult-journal-jar, may be helpful!

Not really sure if anyone can help but I'm wanting to make sweetie jars for wedding favors and I wondered if anyone knows where I can get some suitable little jars from.

    TIA

  • Ooh, interesting. How small are we talking? I think that your best bet might be to find the smallest jar in the supermarket of something you will eat but is pretty cheap, empty the contents out into freezer bags etc then use the jars, that would mean they would all match at least. I know that Morrisons do curry sauce for less than 10p in a big jar so they must have some smaller cheap jars too. Otherwise try freecycle if you don't mind about them matching, or ask friends and family and work colleagues to collect them for you. HTH

Not quite sure about the size smaller than a normal jam jar but not as small as the single serve ones if that makes any sense.

They have some on the confetti website with dolly mixtures in for £2.99 each  i'm sure I can do it much cheaper than that.
  • How about these

How about using baby food jars?

If the lids have writing on them, maybe you could spray paint them to your colour scheme.
Or if the writing is around the edge, maybe you could hide it with a bit of ribbon and some sort of embellishment on the top.
I'm sure if you put ad advert in your local paper, somebody would be willing to give them to you.
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D
  • I glued circles on coloured card on the top of baby jars I've used. They are a great size
