Finished my 2 DD's journal jars today - just need to get an expanding folder each to put the bits and bobs in (raided my craft supplies so didn't need to spend much) I've got them a plastic underbed storage box each to keep it all in - the boxes were only 99p in sainsburys - and whilst not pretty - they will keep everything together and it's all a bit more secret if it's stashed away under their beds....I know my eldest DD will love it - not so sure about the younger one but it will be a great way of her expressing herself a bit more.

The books I used were from Sainsburys - A4 spriral bound watercolour papers - nice and thick and plain (I wanted plain for them to decorate)..they were £4.99 each but they have nice hard covers that were ready to be decorated.

Jars were full of yucky sweets from the £1 shop - chucked the sweets and used the jars :D

That looks fab!!! Well I finished my lists last night, got the layout right etc, was working on it until past midnight! I have emailed them to my brother in law to print out for me though because we're out of ink!!! :rotfl: Saves my paper lol!

I can't wait until my DS is old enough for something like this!!!

They didn't take too long to be honest - I've saved the list of questions I've asked in word format so if you think they'd be relevant then shout and I'll send them over (my dd's are 10 and 13 so a mix of stuff in there)

  • Hey, for those who were interested in the tomato and chilli jam recipe I got it from here...

    http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/513733

I didn't do any food processing so I just added everything together but with the garlic, chilli etc finely chopped. It really is delicious, I have been having it on sandwiches, as a ketchup for sausages, with cheese...

Have you seen the ones on this site... http://organizedchristmas.com/printable/child-journal-jar

They probably won't all be suitable for a 13yo but some may be.
