Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

I have put in a claim to close brothers for about £450 in charges applied to my account plus interest. I still owe £5000 on this account. They did offer me £80 which i rejected they have now sent me a letter saying that as i did not accept their terms and condition they have decided to close the account. I telephone the company and was told very bluntly that as i had decided to go to court that this was a breakdown in communication between us and that they can cancel the account.
Has any one got any suggestions? I can get the money to pay off the card but it will be a pain and if i have it for a few more months it would be paid off. I do not want another credit card.
I just feel that they are bullying me.
Cheers for any help.0 -

Im claiming charges from Barclalys Bank, We had a stay put on it and went to plymouth court to get the stay lifted, the judge said he was not happy with the case and the Interest I was paying was to high and this was why he would lifted the stay. I claimed for late payments and a card renewal etc.
I also felt the interest i was paying was to much some months it was £83 plus Barclays themselfs have said i was paying to much interest.
Please can anyone tell me if you can claim INTEREST back. please let me know ASAP.
Thank you0 -

Any advice to which of these can be claimed back would be very helpful.0 -

You can claim the late fees and unpaid direct debit fee. Here is a post from another thread which covers charges for reclaiming from Bank accounts and from Credit cards. Hope this helps!Edinburghlass wrote: »CAN BE CLAIMED

Contractual interest
This is what you see on your bank statements charged by the bank when you go overdrawn. It appears on your statement as 'INTEREST', or 'INT'.
There are normally two different interest rates charged. A lower rate is charged when you are overdrawn, but still within your agreed overdraft limit. Under no circumstances can this interest be reclaimed. There is a higher rate of interest (up to 29.9%) charged when you go over your overdraft limit (unauthorised overdraft). This is a bit trickier to deal with. You cannot claim any of this interest if your spending has caused you to go over your overdraft limit, but you can claim this interest on any bank charges that have caused this. The problem with this is working out the interest only on the charges. It can be difficult to get right, and you have to be very accurate with your figures in case the bank at any stage challenges them. Generally, most people don't claim this interest.0 -
Help.
After reading these articles I decided to claim on my Hellifax credit card for charges that amount to £874.89.The card was never used since 2004 when I was made redundant.
I had insurance with them but it took from August 2004 to December 2004 to get them to start paying the twelve payments on the insurance. They have not provided statements only default charges.I notice that there are 4 late fee defaults of £25 during the period that the insurance was paying the statements.
I am unable to work due to Disability with diabetes ,I will never be able to.
The problem is my account was closed by them and they have suggested I owe them £900 .They have offered £208 ,which is an insult ,but what I owe is illegal charges added by them. They say they will pay this money to the card.
What do I do next, can I have the full settlement paid by cheque?0 -
I have been charged overlimit fees by Natwest Visa ( on 4-5 occasions ) in the past year or so, so it was in the amount of £12 every time. Is it still worth it making a claim since most banks offer the difference between the previous charge and the £12 as a settlement?

Good morning all.
Several years ago i had a Comet card which i believe is administered through Time Retail Finance.. Anyway fell into arrears and got passed through to a debt collection agaency...( Aktiv Kapital )
Last month i cleared the balance and was looking to bin most of the paperwork with it. However i noticed i had several charges which were labelled as "Arrears letter charge" at £18 a throw.
Am i able to claim those charges back....Bearing in mind they are not labelled as defalut charges...In all a total of about £180 worth of them...
Thanks people
