I closed a Lloyds TSB card two years ago, but I have keep all my statements.
I checked back through the four years before that and found that I had been charged late payment fees of £20 on 12 occasions. Ammending a template from the bank charges part of this website, I complained and asked for "all charges" to be refunded.
I got the standard 'get lost' reply.
Wrote again, saying I intended to go to court to recover £240 plus £62 interest, and almost immediately they replied, offering £80 plus £19.87 interest (8%) plus another 14 days interest at 5.75% (so I don't lose any interest while considering their offer!) ammounting to £100.05.
Two letters and about twenty minutes - £100!
Letterly, they were very civilised and reasonable - it's just such a pity they have to try to be intimidating bullies with the first reply.
Hi there Would be grateful if you could give me the date your claim was settled. I got the brush off. Just about to make arrangments to take to court. Bank of Scotland Visa paid me half my claim.Lloyds TSB Visa giving brush off.Royal bank of Scotland (Current Account) put me on hold.Lloyds TSB (Current Account) put me on hold. Not sure what to do now whether to go to court with all three or just my TSB visa????????? Thanks0 -
Can anyone help ? I currently have a payment plan with Barclaycard and Lloyds TSB credit card. (fallen behind on payments).
We have high charges on the accounts over the years. Has anyone else claimed the charges and written them off against the debt ? Would this affect the payment plan we have both agreed?
I am sorry if this has already been asked but I couldn't see any posts.Lightbulb moment: 19 May 2008 !!Total debt May 2008: £24,220 Debt free date: Jul 2013DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 196Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -

As this is a debit card and not a credit card then you would be reclaiming bank charges and need to follow Martin's article here..

You need to have a read through this thread regarding IVA/DMP...

As you rightly state any monies reclaimed would be put towards any debt held by the bank which will of course reduce your overall debt.0 -
I've just got off the phone to Barclaycard litigation dept after reading Northolk Shot's post and they told that they are settling most claims now out of court and are trying to get the letters sent out in the next couple of weeks.
After telling them that i'm at the stage where i'm waiting for a court date back from Brentford County Court they have bumped me up the list and said i should have a full settlement offer in the next week. one phone call has made me feel a lot better, i was panicking a bit about going to court. So fingers crossed i should here back soon. I'll keep you all updated. And thanx to Northolk Shot for helping out.
Steve.

I was in the process of taking Barclaycard to court re: credit card charges. I started the process about 6 months ago - Barclaycard put forward a defence and I looked forward to my day in court...
The other day I got a letter from Court saying I would have to wait for for bank charges investigation to come to a conclusion before the matter could move forward - even though my claim has nothing to do with bank charges. Have had a look on threads and cannot find anyone else who has encountered same problem. Could someone direct me? Many thanks
Oops i hit the wrong button and thanked you....My advice would be to call Barclays Litigation Department and say that you are going to appeal the decision as it's the wrong one but would they be willing to settle out of court to save the extra expense to yourself and to them....if you need the phone number call me and i'll give it to you.
BarclayCards Litigation Department even accept themselves that courts should not be staying Credit Card Claims.0 -
HI, first time using this site so bear with me!
My accoutn is closed about 3 and a half years and I have written to Barclaycard twice now requesting info - I gave them all relevant details dob, previous adresses, mothers maiden name etc. and they have written back saying they cannot trace the account and they will close the case within 14 days if i cannot provide an account number. I do not have any statements - what should I do???

hi everyone
have just been offered £75 after claiming £230 from argos store card basically they said that it was the difference between the charge and the £12 ie new lower charge
they said they will pay it into the argos account
can i ask for a cheque instead and are they likely to pay it or will they just knock it off what i owe them serious debts with council tax gas electric and single parent of wtc ctc etc
would prefer the £75 in my purse as opposed to off the amount owing as i have just agreed special terms with them no interest charges and they are accepting £1 month
not trying to take advantage but just desperate
thanks guysSave 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000 -
Thanks very much for your advice - that's really helped me to decide which route to take, which is the FO.
Best wishes.0
