Credit Card Reclaiming Discussion

Hi - back in 2001 I had a credit card and incurred a few late payment fees etc. In March 2005 I had a letter from a debt collection agency saying that they'd been passed the debt (almost £500 on a £250 limit card) which I luckily was able to pay straight off. Anyway, was wondering, although that card is closed, am I able to get information for, and claim back these fees from this card I no longer hold? Thanks!

I am a little confused on how I would go about this claim.
The amount I am owing on the credit card is (to date) £776.17 (this includes the credit limit which was £250)
I have paid (since the time I went over the limit in 2004 till 08/10/07) 553.37.
the Over limit fee I have been charged is £288 (12 x £24)
The Late payment charges have been £264 (11 x £24).
This card has been cancelled and destroyed since about 2 years ago, and if you wanna know it is with Monument.
Could someone please help with how to get the sums and do this claim.
Thank you0 -

If you don't know the account number then send the bank your name, any relevant addresses and your DOB and they should be able to trace your account.0 -

You can claim back any late payments and/or over limit fees but be aware any monies reclaimed will go towards any debt held by the bank, this of course will reduce the debt you owe them.0 -

You can claim back the 12 x £24 and the 11 x £24 which will go some way to reducing the debt you owe on the card.0 -
Hi
I was in the process of taking Barclaycard to court re: credit card charges. I started the process about 6 months ago - Barclaycard put forward a defence and I looked forward to my day in court...
The other day I got a letter from Court saying I would have to wait for for bank charges investigation to come to a conclusion before the matter could move forward - even though my claim has nothing to do with bank charges. Have had a look on threads and cannot find anyone else who has encountered same problem. Could someone direct me? Many thanks0 -
If your claim has been stayed then you need to follow Martin's advice from the article You Case Has Been Stayed....

Thank you for the answer, but what about the money I have paid. I have about over £500 payment on the card and if I claim just the fees, I will still be owing about £200.
So will I still have to pay the £200+??0 -

I would say yes, as it is still debt that you owe them from spending, as opposed to debt brought on solely by the charges.£100 Christmas Challenge! 20 people to buy for!
