can anyone help please, i had an egg card in 2005 which im still paying off on a minimum payment every month. The problem is i dont use the same email address as i did in 2005 when i set up with egg. Ive no way of checking as the email address is now obsolete, as egg only send statements by email ive not actually seen what i still owe for some time. I spoke with egg about getting the statements posted to a new email address but they wasnt very helpful and insisted i needed to set up a new password to access my statements....doh

as ive only been paying minimum payments, i knew id still owe a bit but was horrified to be told i still owed around £2500 after all this time.

Id really like to view my statments as ive not used this card for over 3 years...perhaps theres all sorts going on there i dont know about. Does anyone know if Egg can send paper statements out...legally i need to see these surely??

any help or advice most appreciated
  • They can send them out. Have you been able to go into your egg account using your password?

Am I right in saying that you do not use the email or it is an old work email?

its an old address that i didnt use for years so hotmail closed it down...i think they do that if the email add isnt accessed after so long.... to be honest i cant even remember what it was now!

Have Egg given you any alternatives? Might be worth playing the "well if you cannot give me access to the account then maybe i have better balance transfer it to someone else where I can access it" card(Yes it is a big card ;) ).

If they look at your credit file then it is a breach of the Data Protection Act 1998(you can't just snoop at someone's details ;) )

    Hi

Very late to be starting this but have never been the quickest off the block. Have decided to reclaim bank charges but we have 3 different accounts, all with the Nat West. 2 are in joint names (me and hubby), and 1 is my name only.
Can anyone advise if I need to submit 3 seperate letters or if the 2 in joint names should be submitted on the one letter? Also, I presume this would need both signatures on it.

    Many thanks
    Katyk
  • I echo charambboo.... keep fighting. In my final letter (5th I think) I told them to make me a sensible offer and not to waste my time. Egg will try anything to put u off.
    Good luck
