Just recieved a letter from barclaycard this morning after turning down offer of £146.88 inc interest
Requested £797
Recieved £730.08
Woo hoo!!!!!!:rotfl::T
Hi
can you tell me if they credited your account or sent you a cheque, and if you still use your card, as i've an old Barclaycard account with a debt on it and was wondering if i claimed the charges (about £500) would i get it by means of a cheque or simply paid back against my debt?
Thanks in advance for your response0 -
Hi Clanger
Have just recieved payments from Capital One and Barclay Card for my charges back, all in all they repaid £735 which was close enough to the £850 I was chasing.
Clanger I had mine refunded onto the card, unfortunately if you still have an outstanding debt they are unlikely to send you a cheque and will most likely credit your account.0 -
Provider: Monument Barclaycard
Amount Reclaimed: £696
Amount they paid: £696
The story:
Put in a template letter and got statements after 4 weeks, put in next letter, nothing so rang them up after advice received from the forums on here. Very lovely lady 4 working days later £696 in my bank account.
Now going after Studio Citi, M&S money and A&L plus natwest bank charges which is ongoing. It is so worth doing. I was badly in debt but i got out of it and now hopefully making some money back0 -
Hi Clanger
I owed them around the amount they owed me so they have refunded my card. Only have to pay them £20 now then I can close the account. All card companies seem to repay your debt with themselves first if there is any difference they will send you a cheque. Hope this helps!0 -
Credit Card - Citi
Amount claimed - 443.15
Amount paid out 443.15
Thank you Martin. Thought it might not come through but i did.
I also got £25 two weeks ago because they were late in replying to my first letter. So within 2 months of sending the first letter I am now halfway through my credit card debt.
Thank you again. Going to try another one now!0 -

Hi every1,
I've already got my bank statements and i'm already half way through highlighting the unfair charges and tomorrow i'm going to send letters out to both my credit card companies for the last 6 years statements to do the same.
My question is, should i make photocopies of all my highlighted statements for my records before i send them off with my first letter for refund or is there no need?
Thanks

Hi,
We have a card (Golf Card) this was transfered by the original provider to MBNA the date for payment was changed without asking and I have been charged £12 for late payment regularly. As these changes have been made without consultation can I reclaim the costs?
thanks :mad:0 -
Provider: MBNA
Amount Claimed: £2600 including interest
Amount Received: £2600 including interest
Just followed the instructions on this site and claimed for all charges and interest. Sent 1st letter mid October and MBNA made an initial payment of the charges of £723 November 14th.
Sent the 2nd letter on 16th November asking for all charges plus interest and received reply today saying they would pay full amount claimed including interst.
I found it a really straightforward process, thanks in no small part to the excellent advice on this site and the forums. All it cost me was 2 1st class stamps.
Ask for the full amount of the charges plus interest MBNA seem to pay up after the 2nd letter.
Many thanks to everyone who has given advice here and special thanks to Martin.:beer:0
