Well done on getting some money back but it would help others on this site if you explain what you did i.e. was this a current financial hardship, one off gesture, historical cards etc?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

All financial hardship - not a word of a lie to any credit card company. We had proof.0

I am new to all these forums and this ppi reclaim process. Can anyone please advise the best way to go about it? Such as how to claim and who I send the claim requests to? Who may owe me a refund?
Thanks Lucy670 -

If you want to complain about PPI, look at your old cards and loans and see if they had it (or ring up the lender and ask).
Do note it is not a claim and no-one owes you money, you have to explain why you feel it was miss-sold and they will evaluate the complaint and come back to youSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

PPI SUCCESS STORY
Provider: Barclaycard
Amount Reclaimed: No set amount
Amount they paid: £3,793.18
The story: I'd had a Barclaycard for 35 years and had no idea if I'd ever had PPI on it. But I reclaimed using Martin's Resolver tool which made it so easy. I had no proof that I'd ever had PPI, I just supplied my name, address, Barclaycard number etc. Then they looked into it. It turns out that I did have PPI for a nine year period from 1991 until 2000. I was a full time parent and then self employed during that period so they agreed that it had been missold. I've been refunded the payments I made, interest and statutory compensation, which is why it's such a large amount.
I got the letter today saying my compliant had been upheld and my PPI had been missold and when I checked my bank account the refund was in there :T.
Thank you very much Martin Lewis for your amazing Resolver tool which made it so easy for me to claim :money:.
Please can I have a PPI badge from MSE Badger so that I can shout my PPI success story from the rooftops? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

That's all well and good but you have bumped a thread that was almost a year since the last post and on top of that, is nothing to do with PPISam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

Hi. I currently have a charging order registered against my jointly mortgaged property but the debt is only in my name. The debt is with Lloyds TSB for a credit card which i defaulted on and was happy for the order to go ahead. I have since been refunded over £1600 for mis-sold PPI even though the debt is currently active as a charging order.... Lloyds never said they would offset the refund from the debt so i accepted the refund and popped it in a savings account in the event they want to offset it against the debt........the balance of the debt is £6000 but 2 months after i was awarded the refund, a company called LINK Financial contacted me asking me to complete a means form and asked if i could start paying the debt off! i am confused as to why, if they took over the debt years before contact, they are unaware of any refund for mis sold PPI? so i have emailed them stating that the debt is currently in dispute on the grounds of unfair charges and mis-sold PPi. i will await a response. thanks for reading this . just thought it was strange that Lloyds paid the refund and now im being contacted by link who claim to have bought the debt years ago! I am also looking at the possibility of getting the charge removed as the total amount includes unlawful charges and mis-sold ppi which would reduce the debt considerably......RANT OVER .......thanks0

But the mis-sold PPI has already reduced the debt. You have over £1600 sitting in a savings account.
What charges were unlawful?0 -
The Banks won against bank charges and not against credit card charges !0
