Credit Card Reclaiming Success Stories

Hi Everyone,
New to the forum and would really appreciate any advice/help.
After filling there online form in a few weeks ago I received a letter from Barclaycard today stating that they mis-sold PPI on your credit card from Nov 2001 until August 2013. They have offered:
£153.25 Refund of PPi Payments
£12.14 PPI Interest
£2.39 *% Interest
£0.47 Tax
£167.34 Total
I am not sure if this is a fair amount because of the time etc and have read about Comparative Redress.
Should I accept ? Any advice would be great0 -
Hi All,
My name is Phil Cookson. on 9th January 2015, I paid a National Driver Training company, £1,898.00 with my Capital One Credit Card, for a course for my Son. Sadly about two weeks later my family lost my Mother and it's thrown us all into turmoil. As a result, my Son didn't start his course. I contacted the company and asked to have my money refunded to my Credit Card. They responded with telling me as I had paid the money and had cancelled the course outside of the 14 day cancellation period quoted in their terms & conditions, I was not entitled to a refund.
I have emailed & telephoned the company but they are refusing to refund my £1,898.00. Can I claim the money back through my Credit Card.
Any help, advice or suggestions would be good because I can't write off nearly £2,000.
Many Thanks,
Phil Cookson.0 -
Are there any PPI or insurance included in the Interest or charges in our monthly payments to the credit card companies? I am concerned as i have had huge balances for up to 15years. The payments made over 10yrs is enough to have paid back the debts..but theinterest is so high 29% on average0

PPI will be itemised separately if you have it.0 -
Hello,
So happy to hear about your success...I would like your encouragement as I am not sure if I can make a claim on my huge credit card balances. Not sure if PPI is included in any of my payments. Your view will be appreciated...as you had a huge reclaim0 -

PPI is a separate monthly charge on every statement following a month where you did not pay off the balance in full it is not and can never be hidden in the interest as the balance would not equal the total debits. Look on your statement - if it includes PPI you are allowed to complain about it (though having it is not a complaint reason on its own)
Unfortunately credit cards are an expensive way to borrow money - you will pay a lot of interest and more than you actually borrowed - that is how they work, you should always pay it off in full every month or not spend if you can't afford to pay it back (in an ideal world of course).Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
