I'm sorry to say i bought the value marmalade at 27p and only managed to give away a couple of jars as it really is horrible to eat. I'm surprised anyone actually buys it to eat anyway. Wish i could have found a use for it as i really hate waste0

A long shot but could you remelt it and put some more peel in there at all, would it work?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

If it coincided with one of my kids birthday parties, a school bake, etc, I would make jam tarts with them and give them away.... If it didn't I suppose I would be stuffed!!
Skint but happy with my lovely family

In a cake? If you put some orange juice in with it may be more palatable. I bought some posh biscuits the other week form approved food, they were oragne marmalade & very nice. I don't know if you could find a recipe for some.

I made chutneys for presents last year and bought value mint sauce, poured it all into a big plastic tub and have just run out now. I used quite a bit in taboule, biriani, ratia, tsatsiki etc so got through more that normal but at least it wasn't wasted and it all kept fine in the fridge.0

Am looking to make jams and chutneys for Christmas presents and am just wondering where is the cheapest place to buy my empty jars. Thanks0

The cheapest way is to save your own - bit late now but useful for next time? - and get your friends to do the same.
Lakeland sell jars, also spare lids if your collected jars have damaged lids, and there is a website that I have noticed but not used myself:

Hi kirstygem,
I usually save jars throughout the year and ask friends and family to do the same so I never have to buy them specially. I also see them offered and requested quite regularly on my local freegle group.

I'll add your thread to it later to keep the suggestions together.
