Hey
I just realised that it was me who started this thread back in April....im such a div...sorry..lol.
TBH I havent tried alot of the tinned items. I have tried and liked the rice pudding, pineapple (hubby makes pizza slices on toast and uses ham, cheese and pineapple) and raviolli. Tried the toms but didnt like-maybe i will try again and see if they have changed. They are only used for sauce bases or spagbol/chilli.curry etc and find the SP toms fine.
I find their ham, chedars, yogurts, frozen fish, olive oil, ice cream all good quality. I generally buy shopping at asda fortnightly then top up at lidls if needed through the week. Their fruit and veg is normally half price and good quality. Dont go much on their bread.

Got a bag of 'Cape' Granny Smith apples for 59p and they're excellent. Great value on fruit and veg.
interested to read some negative comments about their bread? What's up with exactly? See they sell brands like Hovis as well.MFW 2015 #41 = £20,515/£20,515

Their Hovis granary bread tends to be a bit on crumbly side compared to the Hovis granary from other supermarkets.
Got some chocolate last week...five little bars in a pack..not sure what it was called but it was gorgeous...equal to cadburys in my opinion.0 -
I dont mind their wholemeal Hovis - havent tried the Granary as havent seen it here.
I dont know what they are called but there are some dark chocolate wafer biscuits in a small white bag (chocolate and hazelnut) that are amazing. I think they cost around £1.20. I took them to work to share around and am regularly getting orders now!
Never could get over the small jar of pimento stuffed olives (yummm!) for 50p."Life is like a game of cards. I lived in Germany for 3 years as my Dad was in the RAF. I loved Bratwurst sausages there, so when I discovered Lidls did them...well I had to visit!
I bought my lovely sausages but also discovered a treasure chest of bargains. If you are not a "brand junkie" you can buy groceries a lot cheaper. For example in my local Tesco, 2 litre bottle of Pepsi is £1.28 in Lidl it's only 69p! I always buy a case of Orange juice there as it is only 33p a litre for really nice quality OJ. Other things are the tinned soups are lovely. Cook in sauces (Korma, Tikka Masala etc) are wonderful and they are all cheap! Lastly the Premium lager is fantastic and only 75p for a 0.5 litre bottle. All in all high recommended if you enjoy getting quality goods at a bargain price. The shop does not have an "upmarket" feel, but don't let that put you off, Mr Tesco employs phycologists to arrange layout, lighting etc, that's why Tesco are so profitable...it's your money he's taking!
At Lidl you do need £1 coin for the trolley but you get that back. Take your own bags as they sensibly charge for theirs. The cooked meats and frozen 100% 1/4lb burgers are brilliant and as for the German potato salad...wow!
I hope that helps you...give it a try...with an open mind and have fun :j
Kind regards

I can imagine.
Would be better if they were better organised the managers I.e more area managers than one manager for about 15 stores
My wife made a complaint about having on her wage slip -90 hours appeared to say she was owe 90 when she was on Maternity leave at the time
Still not fixed and that was November.
Good quality food and prices though.
We can do a months shopping there for £100 when we're not got as much money though not did it for a long time though we're mainly earing the same thing's as there aint much of a variety.
Also our local store where my wife works always has too much bread so it's always being giving away :d
Though they've stopped employees from helping themselves to this nothing stop's there husbands :d0
