i got the small package.
I have just seen the virgin media sim only package for:
2GB 2500 minutes unlimited text message - £6.00 month 12 months.
am I able to cancel my order with Smarty if i wanted to, and if so how?
The amount you paid when you ordered doesn't start until activation - I kept mine until the 1 April - but you would need to use the chat system to see if you can get a refund.
I'm now leaving as they have pushed back roaming to July.0 -

Debatable: The T&Cs state that "Activating your SIM means that you accept these terms" so therefore if you don't activate the sim you have not accepted the T&Cs and therefore the agreement doesn't exist. However there is nothing further that I can see in the T&Cs about activation.
https://smarty.co.uk/legal/smarty-terms-and-conditions-v2.0.pdf
I would say nevertheless that beyond the 14 days cooling off period you have to give 1 month's notice of cancellation as stated in the T&Cs and you won't get a refund.
Perhaps give Smarty a call and appeal to their better nature.0 -

You don't need to give Smarty notice, it's PAYG. Just don't renew.0

The T&Cs state9.1 You may end this agreement by stopping your use of service at any time.
Then if you read onwards from 9.2 it gets confusing but basically if you don't buy a plan for six months you get disconnected on 30 days notice. So therefore "stopping your use of service" does not cancel the contract and disconnection is a penalty. If you don't renew your plan, your account will stay active for 6 months. After 6 months, we'll send you an email and text informing you that we'll be closing your account soon.
If your account is closed, you'll lose any remaining data or cash add-ons that are available, as well as any data discount you've earned.
https://help.smarty.co.uk/your-smarty-account-and-billing-details/setting-your-plan-up-to-automatically-renew
So therefore in essence Smarty's advertising tag-line "cancel anytime" is not true and since data discounts are applied in the next 30-day period if you don't renew you lose it.0 -
I have received my smarty sim card. has my 30 days started already, or when i put the sim on my handset? if its when i put it in my handset, whats the longest time i have before the sim becomes void?Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0

You need to activate the SIM. I can't answer the other half of your question, test out their support?0

I found there chat very helpful. A few things I discovered:
You have up to six months to use your sim for the first time.
Although the company takes a payment upfront,t he next payment is taken a month after you activate / start using the card
If you are referred by a friend, this will be activated 14 days after you use the card, so the second month.
01, 02, 03, uk mobiles, freephone calls and 111 are included in the sim, together with voicemail.
If you want to make a chargeable call, you have to load up money onto the account first.
you can port your number via the dashboardTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Shame they keep dragging out roaming, must be a few people who would take if they knew they would definitely have roaming. July maybe, not exactly helpful.0
