Aesop, if you're around at all today I could do with a bit of advice please.

I can't find any way to go 'full screen' on my current laptop:mad:. I've trawled through as many websites as I can for fixes and although they give various combinations of buttons to press none of them have worked. The usual F11 button doesn't do anything at all, obviously that's the first thing I tried.

I went on various Microsoft/Windows websites and it appears that Edge doesn't have the full screen facility. It looks like there are lots of others angry about that. I suppose the only option is to download another browser which I don't want to do as I'm still getting to grips with Edge:o. I didn't like Firefox much when I tried it a couple of years ago as an alternative to IE, although I know there are other possibilities too.

Have you any experience of this problem please? Any advice will be very useful. I'm asking you as you are a technology whizz:A but if anyone else has any suggestions I'd be equally grateful. Thank you x

I don't use edge for several reasons. our new IT company at work tried to get the whole office to use Edge. we all complained and said no and we are happily using chrome.

one it remembers passwords. In our office a must have.
two it limits what you can do as you found out
three our database provided says what we use works best in chrome as built for that not edge
four it never ever behaves on my laptop. not even when pc was brand new and not used
five it is limiting in what you do

may I suggest for prolific you use chrome.

easy to use none of that hassle you get with Firefox

So sorry to see you go, MrsC:(. We'll really miss you:A. Thanks very much for putting me in the same group as Aesop and Lynne, I was very touched, but those two are the real heart of the thread.

Good luck in whatever you do next:beer:. Please drop in and see us if ever you have the time. Absolutly no obligation to talk about making money;)

Good luck with the car boot sale on Sunday. I can picture you setting out your wares in the muddy field before it's even daylight. Been there, done that too many times to remember. And often not made much more than the £30 you mentioned either:(. Boy, is it cold at that time of day:eek:. I hope the weather will be great for you and the buyers come out in droves:beer:

excuse me carbootcrazy. now you have offended me.

you most definitely belong in the same group.

we love your posts and it's not the same without you.

you have been a backbone to this thread for many years.

your lovely way with words and how you are so wonderful in comments to people and your perfect way of putting things.

there are lots of people I will miss on this thread if they left for their wonderful company, words, posts and general being.

so none of you are allowed to leave lol
  • Had a super day today, £30.45 profit. Found something that I'm really quite good at - used to waste a lot of money gambling. Well, I say a lot of money, only ever £10-£20 a week, but it all adds up and I very rarely won. Now I'm still 'gambling' you might say by matched betting but I'm actually making money, and at the same time not losing money by placing the type of bets I used to. Have knocked a few things on the head lately, such as Prolific Acad (mainly because every time I go on, there's no surveys) to focus the time I do have in the areas where I'm making the most money, and still plenty of time to spend with the family.

Hope everybody has a fantastic weekend, and the pennies keep rolling in. I'm getting every so closer to getting my credit card balance down to 3 figures..the aim is to get there by the end of September, and if that is achieved, it's this topic that will have made that possible.

    Sorry for rambling :rotfl:

You weren't rambling at all, Mike (says she who can ramble for England:rotfl:). It's good to see what works for people as it helps others to try something new:T. Well done on your success and long may it continue:beer:

Thanks, Aesop:T. I think I'll give Chrome a try especially if it's easy to use. It's taken me months to get to grips with Edge and I still find a lot of it baffling. Doesn't take much though:o. Looks as if it's not just me having problems with it and in some ways that's a bit of a consolation;).

I have made £409 so far this month. Matched Betting is easy money when you get head around it. Took me a while though.

In case anyone wants to update the August figures I posted there a few days ago (very late, sorry).
I'm intrigue by matched betting. I haven't tried it as I would not bet and risk my money. I also would only regard it as a win if the amount you get is higher than your original stake.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

  • Well done to everyone making any money:T:beer:. I hope everyone who was feeling under the weather is now fighting fit again.

Had a very sad phone call this morning to tell us OH's sister (his only sibling) died suddenly last night. She seemed to be the fittest of all of us. We can't believe it, it's shaken us to the core.

We haven't seen them for about 8 years (since the last family funeral actually) but have kept in touch by other means. The distance has always been the stumbling block as she lived on the farthest tip of Pembrokeshire, about as far from us as it's possible to get (in England&Wales anyway).

OH is saying to me that he can't face the journey to the funeral (he hasn't been particularly well recently). I'm planning to research possibilities of coach/train then neither of us needs to get anxious about driving there.
