Hey there!!!! oh i'm so glad you are back, just had a wee catch up of your thread and i can see you are in a great frame of mind!
Hope you had a good time with your family?
Sorry to hear the OH is not being too great, but it would seem you are in control of your destiny which is excellent! A word of caution, don't post too much on here about your plans, as you just never know who might be reading these public forums.... be a bit careful. Although we are all intrigued to know what you might be planning!!!
Your son must be loving all these activities, what a great mum you are!
Nice to have you back!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Thanks for the advice Maz. I wasnt planning on announcing the finer details of my plans here in any case..nothings set in stone at the mo' in any case.
I was meant to arrange an interview for delivering catalogue goods, but have decided against it. I posted in another forum on here and i guess it wont be worth the time and effort..so the hunt goes on..!
I'll try do the AQA on Mon though...CC1: [strike]1,500[/strike] CC2:[strike]£830[/strike] Vanquis [strike]£1500[/strike] £2000 left

Well I tried the AQA thing but it was so busy at work i've decided I'll try another day..
I have done reasonably well and managed to have no spend days at work -ish!-apart from Tue when i gave in and had a £1.30 brekkie sarnie. My own fault cos i left the house late, so had no brekkie - so was really hungry at work. Although I had a fiver in my purse and vowed that ut'd see me through till the weekend - i spent the last bit of it this afternoon - on spinach for tonights dinner. The rest was used on Mon for milk, bread (for work sarnies) butter and parking.
Tomorrow is my interview day for the language stuff.
I contacted the council and i owe them about £900..they said it wont "roll over" into the next years council tax bill - they'll both be handled separately..so i guess thats where the extra cash'll be headed...
So I have just £200 in savings and need to make at least £500 a month. I am due a tenner from a mystery shop; but in my area all the work seems to have dried up. I'm checking the website every day. I also applied to do a focus group meeting thingy next week which could gimme quite abit of cash - so fingers crossed for that too.
Had a tooth out today  so off to bed early..CC1: [strike]1,500[/strike] CC2:[strike]£830[/strike] Vanquis [strike]£1500[/strike] £2000 left

Day off.
Had tooth out yesterday but wasn't feeling up to the interview today so postponed it.
Grabbed a few bargains in Boots today - and posted a few I found in iceland and somerfield on the other forum.
I was owed £60 so have put £ 40 in my savings and the rest to 'top up' my normal account. Just in case.. although i have nothing i intend to buy - or need. Perhaps petrol early next week, but that would be about it really.
I signed up with Gapbusters today; but my regular mystery shopper is not posting stuff up..urrrrr!!! Gapbusters have nothing in my area. I hear they're not that great anyway..
My aim is to save £500 monthly and although i didnt think i'd ebay this month - i'm really inspired now cos its halfway through the month and i'm almost half way there!! :T so i've put some stuff on ebay and shall try amazon books for the first time - never used them before.
This is the first time in years that I've ever had this much money in my account at this time of the month.
I owe it all to everyone on here..your support and advice has gone a long long way for me and i am truly grateful.CC1: [strike]1,500[/strike] CC2:[strike]£830[/strike] Vanquis [strike]£1500[/strike] £2000 left

Hi Bartgirl.I've just noticed your thread.I haven't read all the way through but have skimmed read a couple of posts. I was in an unhappy marriage. We didn't talk much at all. He'd arrive in from work at 6pm and I'd be out of the house at my sisters by 7pm until bedtime.I saved in a secret account my child benefit plus extra money each month until I could afford to leave him.I applied to the council for housing and had the post sent to my sisters address.Only when the council rehoused me did I sit down and tell him.He was shocked to say the least but we spoke for the first time in years.I still lefttaking the kids with me.My ex helped me move out, even painting my new house ( because he wanted somewhere nice for the kids) We get on really well now.I know it can't be like this for everyone one and I will now go back and read your whole thread.I just wanted to let you know that life can be happier.Good luck on your savings. If you ever need to offload in private feel free to PM melost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013

I've had a quiet weekend.
Sat went to the market and spent about 6 or 7 quid on fruit and veg plus nipped into Boots for bath stuff for DS. It was on offer at £2.50 for 2 large bottles of J&J stuff. I tried all my £ shops first though - but they had nothing available. Took DS to park too, and put all my stuff on Ebay.So far I have 2 watchers and 1 bid of £4.99..I live in hope though!! I shall list stuff on amazon too this weeked, and the rest of my ebay stuff tonight.
I've been naughty and dipped into my savings though. A very good friend's going thru a divorce and invited me to Manchester next weekend. The cheapest way i could find (thru the MSE website of course) is on the train -so DS and I are going there to the tune of £32 return in total!! I'm dreading the journey - trying to keep DS pacified for a 2 hour trip aint gonna be easy - but we're not taking much, and since my friends on the dole with 2 kids she's not much of a spender so i'm confident i shan't spend much. I'll keep you all posted! So the savings are down to £215.14 now... although i'm expecting a tenner from a mystery shop, and when iget my CB this week i intend to put at least £50 of that in savings anyway. Plus potential earnings from Ebay should boost that up too I'm hoping..;)
Yesterday I did some overtime at work so DSs dad agreed to have him - albeit reluctantly cos i rejected his advances so received the cold treatment when i got home from work. Admittedly it makes me feel guilty and anxious when he does this - i dont know why and I cant explain it either..maybe there's a shrink out there who can!!
It worked out for me though cos i had my tea then headed straight to bed at 10ish and spent the first few mins just thinking of how i need to become seriously financially savvy..
It was quiet at work today. I spent no money, and have sent off 2 further application forms for employment where I wanna go to with DS. If I get a good job offer - that'd help sort my situation out in a big, big way..but until I get my 'big break'...I'm saving every possible penny..
Pavlov's posted some really good ideas about what to do with my overtime money and tonight i'll do "the maths" and see how it'll all work out..
Thats it from me for now, folks...
Before I forget - I want to thank everyone who's pm'd me from here..you know who you all are..you've been extremely supportive..thanks so so much - your words dont go unnoticed..

Well I've had a good week insofar as I've succeeded in spending 0.00 money at work this week - so my signature remains the same!! :j and i've now transferred some money into my savings so its £ 265.14 now. I'd have had an extra tenner but my petrol was on its last legs - the light thingy was flashing so i had no choice. I'm hoping that'll last me till pay day in anycase..I've got about 20 quid left in my account - £12's going to ebay and i just realised i need to top up my phone tomorrow otherwise i get charged 25p by O2.
My Ebay stuff ends on Sunday and i plan to put a few more bits on over the weekend. I have 7 items on there at the moment - only 1 bid still - for £ 4.99 but i have several watchers at the moment so i'm hoping for the best. The thing thats really p*d me off is that i went onto my ebay to pay - thru Quidco but it hasnt tracked- and this is the 2nd time this has happened..i tried to raise a ticket thru quidco but it says that they dont make enquiries for Ebay transactions  so i'm not too pleased about that.
I also got a thingy thru the post from Boots for 1000 points if i have an eye-test. I'm due one, but would prefer a free one instead! Cant decide what to do..
I dropped in on a friend after work - her DS is a few months younger than mine so i usually pass all my DS old clothes on to her. It was good to see her - she fed us too - and now i just come on here - then bed - the OH aint saying much - as usual...
