    Evening Fellow Scrimpers,

    NSD # 15

Today I got up early and made a tray of granola, a chocolate cake and 7 of the worst scones EVER in the history of sconeage. They were properly awful. Don't know what happened!

Went and got a big shopping bag full of cooking apples from a lady who offered on the local faceb00k c0mmunity site. Then found the community orchard in the local country park and scrumped loads of eating apples. The kids played in the adventure playground and then came and wandered around a bit DS4 was not up for it at all. We found enough sweet chestnuts to fill a whole bag (prickly!) and brought them home for DH to manfully turn into something. He was suitably underwhelmed by the chestnuts and amazed at my apples.
Which I turned into an apple sponge,or Eve's pudding, whatever. They ate it and loved it. Cost pennies. About a third left. They are already fighting over who is going to finish it.

Using up leftover veg from yesterday's roast in pasties for tomorrow's lunchboxes, so one of those with a slab of iced chocolate cake (sandwiched with tayberry jam), a carton of OJ, and a plum will do them for packed lunches . Job done.

Exercise, - apple picking and wandering about a bit

    No shops so no shopping

    No social life

    No heating

Tomorrow will be a spend day as I am nearly out of spread and they have eaten all the sandwich fillers for lunchboxes

A SFD. Nearly defeated the paper mountain. Have just emptied the paper sack whilst there was still a handful of sack to get hold of. Going to decant the cut up paper into suitable little bags (clear cellophane ones meant for displaying individual cards to sell) then will take out one small bag at a time and deal with them.

Not super happy yet but bubbling with quiet expectation - I have most of my bed back and there are some spaces to stand in on the floor. Going to sleep soon as food delivery may arrive at 6 am (mostly stuff for mum). Another order put in for Thursday.

Grateful for nearing th end of this task (just some halloween and Christmas stuff to go through and would like to be far enough in front to make 'proto-types' of some of the things I would like to do in the craft sessions). I am grateful for having good things to eat and for a crow cawing behind me today ( made me jump but apparently lots of little shocks are good for your heart - I also got all the washing in before it rained).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

NSD #14/18 target in theory is achievable but will see what crops up during the week.
Finances updated for this month but will need to think about next month figures during the week.
Food used what was in. Made enough soup for a few lunches and have plenty of other options for meals.

Lovely day which meant managed to get laundry dry outside with a couple of loads carried over to tomorrow.

SFDs - still 11/18 - some small diy bits purchased today and a tiny bit of food shopping by OH

Extra monies/ debt repayment - None.

    Food - running total £319.50/ £450

Eating up/ using up stuff - yep. Also got a heap more random items to use up as DS1 had been on exped weekend, so survived on rat(ion) packs - and he brought back all the unwanted bits (some picky girls who survived on pot noodles and Be1vita biscuits) I've already set aside some for the foodbank (it's great as it's longlife, complete meals and can be eaten straight from pack or heated up) but I now have some more weird and wonderful bits to use up :D - still, it's free food!:T
    Lunches taken - n/a

    Social life - None.

    Exercise - 3/3

    Beauty - £4.73/ £10

Time for self - not really yesterday - I got dishwasher to work in the end (and then gave the filters another good clean and ran a hot, long wash with lashings of white vinegar) but we had a shower repair disaster, which meant we were without water for around 7 hours - at one point it looked as though we wouldn't have any water until some time today (possible emergency repair!) but we do now have water - I just have no shower cubicle/ tiles in my bathroom...... Good job there's another 2 bathrooms - so have moved my shower gel, shampoo etc to DD's bathroom for the foreseeable future..... More money will need to be spent to resolve the issue...

    Heating off - yep.

    Gratitudes:
    * running water - it's such an under appreciated luxury!!
    * free rat pack food :)
    * getting to the bottom of the ironing pile (took almost 3 hours!)
    * a happy - if tired and aching - DS1 after a 50k exped weekend :)
    * DS3 amusing himself for most of yesterday, as it was taken up with lots of diy related stuff - he was a star
    * a hot shower last night :)

Hello fellow scrimpers. Loads of frugality going on, meal prep, etc.

Don't beat yourself up about lost SFDs etc. Quite a few have mentioned they won't hit the target but stayed in budget or managed more than last month. Focus on those achievements.

Apple muncher glad you're on the mend.

Not much social life going on :p (here neither, my next one will be redundancy drink for my boss ).

Good to see people make an effort to make time for me-time. Need to address that a bit better too.

My new shiny fancy diary arrived today and the first appointment going in is the WM engineer who comes on Wednesday. As the machine is under 6 months old I might get a new replacement once the engineer confirmed the fault. Might use the rest of the day of work to get our bedroom painted.

I often run past brambles but obviously can't pick any while running. So yesterday we were in a play park next to bramble bushes but again had no bag. Got talking to some lady and she magic-ed one out of here bag for me. Just picked enough to go with our ice cream last night :) yum

    More later

Morning - burgh feeling poorly! :( today will be an easy SFD as just at home feeling sorry for myself!

Has been eventful since Friday - had emergency car repair as exhaust broke in two and had to have the whole of it replaced £300 :(

Oh paid for our meal out so free night out :)

Saturday BFF took me out for a drink and cocktails so again another free night out - although paid £2.60 bus fair home

yesterday I needed milk and got a load of bits ys but as feeling so poorly got some ice cream as well. No exercise since Friday - not sure I'll get 3 sessions in this week, depends on how soon I recover!

spent £4.30 on beauty last week! I got the magazine with the benefit lipstick as in the newsletter :)
