NST Super September Scrimping challenge

Still on 11 NSD - spent 6.50 on Thursday for some fire logs and 6.50 yesterday getting bits and bobs. I'm going to admit defeat with 18 NSD as it will clearly not happen (impossible) as I have spendy days coming up.
I have had packed lunch all week, even when OH didn't bother and get chips so I'm pleased with my resolve there.
Also, the heating has not yet been turned on. I've also noticed one radiator upstairs is leering slightly so that will need to be looked at.
I'm off next week though and it will be pay day on Friday - it cannot come quickly enough!February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Get well soon apple. Not happy with this week. My arm is still aching from painting one fencepost last Monday. Not sleeping well and have got progressively more exhausted as the week went on. I have a three day weekend this week (mum's cleaner came Friday instead of Wednesday so trying to catch up.
Spent from 9am yesterday until around 4am sorting through the bits for card making. (For new turtles I help at a craft group for people with mixed abilities both physical and mental. A lady donated three large cardboard boxes of crafting magazines. I brought them home and have been cutting out pictures, ideas, borders etc for weeks, also making our own toppers etc).
Not finished yet (was hoping to be onto the baby blankets by now) but have reduced 6 trays down to 3. Two are only half full but part sorted. I've just had a clear round on the floor - all the bits that missed my paper sack and then leftover bits from when I did a big furniture move round which were lurking under drawers and trapped in corners or hidden under more bags of stuff.
Just had a phone call from DS1 which simplifies matters. He isn't coming for his parcels today (need to sweep and mop the bathroom but can wait until later if visitors aren't imminenet). Have arranged to meet him after work on Wednesday (so instead of falling asleep after crafts I have to haul myself and the largest rucksack onto a bus but it clears a large area of the sofa (anything leaving the house is good) and I can stop worrying about the cheque my mother wrote for him (towards his wedding next year).
I haven't been to Manchester for ages (haven't been anywhere out of town apart from mum's hospital visits). Will be a challenge but will feel better after - and good to see DS1.
Not doing well with SFDs. Yesterday was supposed to be spendy so bought a couple of things from the corner shop and then did not have time to go for the things on the list. So today may be spendy too - will put in food orders for me and mum for later in the week.
Congratulations to all who are doing well, commiserations to those struggling. Sometimes real life gets in the way. You have to start with the aim of keeping all the challenge rules and then do your best, getting back on track if you can. The naughty chaise longue was put in especially for me as I couldn't manage the naughty step after my hip replacement operation.
Fmess does it have a bath or is swimming enough?
Today I am grateful for living in the town centre, for mum being okay despite being silly and hurting her ribs and for making headway on the crafting stuff. I might end up spending all weekend doing things for other people but the benefit is a tidy bedroom I can relax in and less of a feeling of obligation - people have said there is no deadline and to do it whenever I can but the stuff itself just sits there, accusing me.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all
Sorry, I've been hopeless at checking in. Only managed 1 more SFD so that's me on just 9/18, shocking. Still taking my lunch to work and sticking to meal plan but apart from that the spending is all over the place. All stuff we've been meaning to do in the house so not wasting money as such, but definitely not scrimping. I'll get me coat!
Good luck for the rest of the month and thanks for having me. XMFIT -T5 #420 -

Check in 23/30
Spendy day today as predicted. Withdrew the weeks shopping money and got what we need. Have enough left for fresh veg later in the week.
Need to plan next week carefully but with the best will in the world I don't think I'm going to make 18 NSD's. There's another week of September and I need another 6 NSD's. I'll keep going though and see where I end up :T
Using up - nothing today but there are still a couple of meals and some soup left in the freezer so will have those next week
Food spends - on target
Heating - nope and 5 days till it's fixed
Social life - nope
Exercise - nope
Me time - yes, later, crochet and a film
Beauty spends - 40/10
The final week scrimpers, enjoy the weekend

Today has been a NSD (thankfully) so I'm at 12/18. Like I said, I won't hit the target of 18 but to be honest I will be happy with 14/15 as I usually struggle to get that much.
I've had a good productive, yet relaxing day today. I've washed the mattress cover (I must admit, I only realised it had a zip the other day so it's never been washed before!) and I've also washed the bedding which is drying now in the tumble dryer.
Hit 10,000 steps target today on the dog walk. The OH and the dog are now asleep on the sofa.
I've also put a pork stew in the oven. As we've pretty much chicken hit food shopping target for the month I am going to try and make our food stores last without shopping again, at least until payday which is Friday. We should manage it (just about). We've got meat in the freezer and some bits in the cupboards too - enough for meals. I will have to be inventive in regards to lunches throughout the week. Leftovers of some sort I imagine.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

NSD #15. Haven't left the house to buy anything, nearly bought a jacket for our hot water tank, it is going to be DH's birthday present. He buys whatever he likes all the time, so is a total sw1ne to buy a present for. I will buy it on a spendy day and wrap it up. He will never guess what it is! Plus he will get to pretend to do diy without getting annoyed it won't work.
Lunch was pan fried gnocchi, posh ys mushrooms, artichokes, lemon and figs. It was gorgeous. Supper was stuffing and yorkshires with roast potatoes, peas, corn, carrots and gravy. We have eaten well today.
All the laundry has been done and line dried and returned to the owners.
No gym, no exercise, no me time
Huge list of stuff I want to do this weekend. Including scrumping cooking apples from a local lady tomorrow - can that be 'me time' ? I going to have to get up early and bake tomorrow4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Day 23
Today was a spend day as I did the food shopping. Notebook updated with spends. Will be going over the budget. As I will be going to the local theatre on Friday night, went to M&S and got some food that will not take long, due to travelling from work and the need to leave in plenty of time for the play.
Did no walking or reading my book today.
Watching Strictly tonight.
My Mum and I both had our hair cut.
Grateful for:
Finding the energy and strength to get through the day and achieve things as I was totally exhausted and feeling under the weather. Feel as I am coming down with something.
For the mobile hairdresser who came round to cut my Mum's and mine hair.
Having a chilled out afternoon.
