Talking down the market

In light of the recent "crash" threads which have had more emphasis due to the recent Northern Rock Debacle, can I just say i hope the people currently locked in rented accommodation due to the high prices ie macaque, carolt etc the best of luck with a downturn. I know you are desperate to buy a home and hopefully with the constant crash threads a change in sentiment might occur triggering a price crash then we can all live happily ever after and buy a home. Amen.

    Not true.

"Most" expect prices to keep rising at a rate some where up to 15% for 2008.

Have a look at the predictions listing at the bottom of this: http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/

    This is unfair.

A website like this provides the oppotunity to exchange views and swap information. You seem to be obsessed with shutting down discussion which does not suit you. I presume that you are an estate agent.

Let me say something about estate agents. You can bet that predatory estate agents will be lying to young first time buyers all over the country this weekend. They will be telling naieve people that properties are flying off the shelf, they must get on the ladder before its too late, property only ever goes up, ten other people are interested in that property etc. Well its not true and I am very happy to post evidence to the contrary.

Have a look at these auction results. This is the same auction in 2006 and 2007. The number of unsold properties went up from 9% to 66%.

    September 2007
    Sold 32.6%
    Unsold 66.6%
    Withdrawn 0.7%

Look how this contrasts with a year earlier!

    October 2006
    Sold 63%
    Unsold 9%
    Withdrawn 28%

Since I joined this website I have only started three threads. One about equities, one about BTL and the other one about house auction results. So stop being so paranoid and accept that people have different views.

Was that at Mr Broderick? :rotfl:
I bet he's been called some things in his time, but never an estate agent.

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

I am prepared to be told I am wrong but but my money is still on you being an estate agent. You are certainly aggressive enough. You also profess to hate estate agents with a passion. The only people that hate estate agents more than the public are other estate agents.

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing
