HB .. she didn't even notice I had vacuumed the floor never mind the ceiling! TBH I wonder if her vision is as good as it once was but I could see the difference.. I didn't do it for the glory just because I knew she was bothered by them so never mentioned it. I wish she would let me do things like that just to be helpful rather than me having to sneak to do them. I did behind the sofas where the cat likes to hide too.

Since we got home the plants are watered and a pizza done for the girls and I am about to load the washing machines to be run tomorrow.

WM x a zillion run, and pretty much all dried :j. I take my hat off to you ladies who have tons more washing every day to cope with than I usually do. Ironing pile threatening to topple, but the airing cupboard is full with a gert big pile that didn't need (or maybe read " wasn't going to get") ironed.

6 kilos of plums picked, so jam and / or chutney making is now on the to do list. All the holiday detritus has been put away, and the suitcases are away for another year. FiL was rushed back into hospital this morning, so DH has gone to see him and will go straight from there to work. He's working away for the rest of the week, so we have certainly come down from holiday mode with a bang. On the plus side, I don't go back to work until Friday!

Sending get well soon vibes for your FIL Fayolle.

Had a successful day flying wise, got everything done bar painting the chairs. However DID NOT have a successful morning with DD, she's decided to skip the terrible two's and go straight to being a 'threenager'!:(

Major meltdowns have ensued over the last 4 weeks, refusal to do anything etc etc. The biggest battle has been bedtime, the worst has not being able to get her into bed til 10.30. So today I created a pictorial timeline so she knew what was happening and when, star chart for going to bed sensibly (with a chocolate reward at the end of the week), and bought a cheapy clock to stick pics of tv, meal times and bed so she know when things are happening. So far so good, just hope better behaviour continues.

Hugs, sticks and spoons to those who need them x
  • Back from festivals and holidays and what-nots. It was very nice not to have to deal with festering pasta and food packets from the lodger on our return this summer - even sorting out the cat's dirty protest at our absence from the bathroom floor was nothing compared to the evil that woman left me last summer - and then had the temerity to claim that she'd cleaned up after Himself and it really wasn't acceptable to leave the kitchen in that state when you go on holiday.

Want to go back on holiday and never leave again. The air stinks here, there's noise and litter and it's far too hot and the incessant glare of street lights means I can't see the stars and it's keeping me awake, irritable and panicky.

The only things that were missed were the cats, as nobody has pets down there, so I had to make do with random animals deciding they wanted to be friends with me, and our creaky, lumpy, hard bed, as everybody seems to have got themselves huge squishy foam mattresses which are horrible, don't support you, make you feel as though you're about to simultaneously fall off and suffocate in the middle of the things and make you far too hot to function as a human being. Especially as I'd managed to bully Himself into at least sorting it out before we left, as the last year he didn't bother and we came back to a bare mattress and no quilt cover. So I made him make the bed through throwing a complete meltdown at him when I went up there and found it like that. He obviously didn't fancy a repeat....

But the evil bright ball of nastiness in the sky is making it over 30 degrees in the bedroom right now, despite a fan being on, so I'm even grumpier, as I'd quite like to get some sleep rather than waste time sleeping during daylight hours when it will hopefully be a bit cooler and I could be doing the garden.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Morning all,

Up v early to wave DH off to work. I am having a cuppa and children still asleep. Day out today which I am looking forward to, will pack a picnic.

Recycling bin is out. Kitchen is a bomb site so will start on that shortly. Wrote a rather long 'to do' list last night of things I want to achieve before children go back to school / Pre-school next week so need to get cracking with that too.

It's very dark here, autumn is on its way x

    Hello :hello:

    WHINGE ALERT:
Not slept well for the past two nights: had what I call a 'Prozac night', on Sunday night where you get in to bed and just know sleep has done a runner; then last night it was just too bloomin' hot :( Result = a grumpy Roundtuit with a headache. :( This is not helped by the fact I have an appointment with the doctor this morning - ironically going to the doctor's makes me feel ill :o The fact that we'll be discussing my phased return to work next week, after three months off with anxiety and depression (caused by conditions at work which will not have changed :( ), and instead of feeling :T:j I'm feeling :eek:_pale_, isn't helping. And breathe ....

I'm good for nothing when I feel like this as my head's a shed. Breathe again. I'm going to go up and make the beds, have a shower, wash my hair and get dressed. Then come down to put the rubbish out and feed the birds. After the doctor's I'll go straight over to perform my budgie duties (which I find therapeutic, so that's good). Then, assuming the doc has agreed to me going back next week and not tomorrow :eek: I'll take my sick-note in to Head Office and ring the surrogate surrogate manager to sort out next week. (My manager is off on long term sick! and her surrogate is on leave this week - hence the surrogate surrogate who doesn't know me from Adam. It's a nightmare.)

Whinge over. There is some flying in there if you look hard enough :o Any tips regarding a successful return to work after a black dog episode (caused by work or not) would be very gratefully received.

Right, shoulders back: paracetamol first as my head is pounding - then beds. And breathe ...
