    Hi Klug,

Nobody will be chuckling at you. :)

My bush tomatoes are ripening now but the full size ones, I think they're Shirley? although fully grown are still green. I think there is still time for them to ripen.

If not I'll make chutney...any variety will do for green tomato chutney. We have a couple of threads that may help:

green tomato chutney can be made with any type of tomato. I can remember making it one year when early frosts had dad picking ALL the tomatoes in the greenhouse (unheated). I think he had three or four different varieties. of course some were put on the windowsills to ripen - but the rest went into chutney (and very nice it was too!).

This probably IS a silly question - but can you buy really green tomatoes? I made green tomato chutney for either my Cook or Homemaker badge at Guides or Brownies, can't remember which, would be nice to give it another try for old times' sake!

I have no idea how I got those badges....what went wrong after that??:o
