Day 2 of Operation Bring Sandwiches to Work All Week
Current Status: Success
Limping towards the finish line that is payday. Hoping the damage isn't too bad. I've overspent in a couple of categories, mainly groceries and fuel. I think it didn't budget enough for these. Its not too drastic.
Not in need of anything until Friday so fingers crossed I can keep spends down until then.

It seems I'm succeeding with lunches and failing with dinners at the moment
Forgot to get meat out of the freezer this morning before commuting to work, so who knows what tonights meal will be. Let's see what DF might want to rustle up when he gets back home from work.
There is so much going on at the moment that I keep forgetting about becoming debt free on Friday!!
I suppose its good for it not to be occupying my thoughts and therefore the time dragging.
I'm preoccupied with work, booking house viewings (to buy) and dealing with the conveyancing of our sale. Oh, and wondering if we'll be able to sell and buy in one smooth transaction.
In many ways, becoming debt free is the least of my concerns right now.
I must take the time to indulge myself in my achievement on Friday.0 -
eggs? Pasta? I made the boys pasta with eggs on the same basis.

Day 3 of Operation Bring Sandwiches to Work All Week
Current Status: Success
Full day of meetings today at work, so it's going to be a busy one.
Then tomorrow at midnight, I make my final credit card payment. Time is passing quickly this week!0 -
Not long now! And I take it you didnt get the other house?
I've heard people do air bnb between houses for flexibility xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800
Total £5500/£138000 -
Are you actually going to stay up until midnight to do the payments?Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Nope! A very competitive market so it seems. We had a ceiling on price and we weren't willing to go over it. There were 6 bids at asking so vendor went to sealed bids. Crazy.
Still looking. Got viewings booked so let's see how we get on. I've eyes on a rental. However, I hadn't even considered airbnb! Will check it out!0 -
Had a meeting cancelled so decided to work from home today which means my last day being in debt will be a NSD as I don't need to put fuel in the car!!
It doesn't seem real that this is my last day in debt. My YNAB will no longer show a minus red net worth. Eeek!
I'll be staying up until midnight to await my salary, make the final payment onto my dastardly b4rclaycard, update my signature and post in The Debt Free Roll of Honour!
I'm working from home tomorrow too - I managed to move a few meetings to next week - so there will be no worries over getting less sleep than usual. When I wake up, my payment will have been recorded on my barclayc4rd app and it will show a balance of £0
Plans for the weekend? We need to do a bit of house work in preparation for the inevitable full structural survey our buyers will book at some point. I'm a bit nervous about it as I don't want there to be anything that threatens the sale. We don't think there will be but you never know! Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. We can always negotiate on sale price if it comes to that.
Anyway, I need to just tie up a few loose ends with the day's work and then I will catch up with diaries!
