  • It's day one of Life after Debt, which is the new name for my diary.

Still hasn't sunk in yet but I'm beginning to feel a bit excited now.

Funnily enough, I feel more protective of my money than ever before. I think its because I know its all mine . I don't owe it to anyone else, it doest need to go anywhere else and therefore that rebellious need to spend it on me rather than paying off debt has gone.

My b4rclaycard has a £0 balance for the first time in 19 years. It all feels a bit surreal. I'm waiting for the offers of balance transfers to come flying in. Or something. I don't know. But I don't think they'll let me get away that lightly!

  • Have I actually managed to change my diary name or are you all still seeing my old name?

I thought I just needed to modify the first post? I've done that but I can still see the original name in my threads. How do I change it?

Your diary is still showing the same title although you have changed the title on your first post. I am not sure if you can change the name of an existing thread. You might have to start a new thread with a link to your old diary.

  • Thanks Shelbi, Positivebalance, Chasingsunshine and Babystepper! :)

I got my first email from B4rclaycard yesterday morning offering me balance transfers and money transfers :) It took them less than 48 hours. The cheek!

All going well here - we're bare bones on the fridge and nearly emptied the freezer so I may well get to defrost it this weekend. Need to do an Oc4do shop tonight for arrival tomorrow.

Not much else to update on. The usual monthly spends so far. House sale progressing well. Still looking at other properties. Will update when we have something more concrete to reveal!

    Thanks Moguline! :)

The post-debt protectionism for my ££s continues. Spends are staying low. Need to do an Oc4do shop at some point. We have a second viewing on a house we like this weekend. I suspect we'll offer. It suits us down to the ground. The vendors want a quick sale and are in the process of moving out so it works perfectly for our current 'chain'.

No significant spends forthcoming. All bills being paid as we speak via various direct debits.

Looking forward to an easter break. Work has been very busy this past few weeks.
