Sensible points like faster cars are safer?

You need to perform an overtake. A faster car will spend less time in the wrong lane than a slow car. Yes, they can be.
Your aim of safer roads can't be argued with, but you're just ranting. You've no idea how good or bad the driver of this car is.

where did I say that? We are talking about cars not drivers

We're essentially talking about both. Your comment suggests that if you are driving a fast car fast, the car will do it all itself. That's not true. It's patently not true or else the well known incidents of people in fast cars driving them into a lake or into a sign post at speed wouldn't have happened.

It's not all engineering, some of it, much of it is human input behind the wheel.

No, I think kmb's point stands - put the SAME DRIVER in a Panda, and a Porsche. The Porsche can speed up, slow down, and go round corners faster. In a way, that makes it safer. Of course, in a way it also makes it more dangerous.

    VXR's come with a reputation.

I laughed a little at calling a Renault build quality poor and opting for the much better put together Vauxhall....

Even when motor trading i'd never really much issues with Renaults per se - granted electric windows gave trouble but they're a cheap fix, as is getting the key cars refurbed.

The only downside of the Renault "equivalents" of the VXR is the price of the bespoke parts on them. Suspension arms, joints, hubs etc cost a fortune and can only be got from Renault Sport through a main dealer.

How about motorists abiding by the rules.of the road. Do you really believe someone buying a Corsair VXR abides by speed limits?

This did make me chuckle..... Although, if we're being pedantic, the Corsair was made by Ford. :D

It's all up to the owner - I like my fast cars, but am especially careful with my pride and joy. I certainly don't hoon around towns...

You can have fun with a quick car on the right roads without breaking the limits...ish.

They are, they have better brakes suspension and acceleration. The problem is the driver's that may be attracted to them, particularly if they are relatively cheap.

I think most would agree that a young, impetuous, inexperienced driver who specifically seeks out a fast car to drive is a recipe for disaster and insurers agree.

Same driver in a slower car would be safer as when they reach the limits of grip (as they are likely to do in both cars while exploring the limits of the car), they will be going that much slower and so the accident will be less serious.

Ok, he's had the tints looked at & the guy didn't even need a light meter... they're illegal!
They're being removed on Tuesday for £20.

He loves it & I must admit it does have that smile factor. The ride is pretty good & it has good supportive (full leather) seats.

MPG? It's showing 31mpg onboard but that's not reliable & he hasn't had it long enough to do a proper calculation... to be honest I don't think he cares :D
