Nut allergy.

Yes, I do smoke. If smoking was still allowed on planes, then smoker or not, I would accept that sitting next to the cigar chain smoker is at my risk.
OK, "Suffer" was probably too strong a word.
Yes, I am an absolute c***.
Your smoking affects other people's health. Eating nuts on a plane could potentially result in another person's death. Someone else's allergy may inconvenience you slightly, but will do you no harm.
Yet you say that people with allergies are full of their own self importance?0 -

Well it's gaining momentum, at some point it won't be acceptable to eat nuts on any flight, same as smoking.0 -
"At least in a restaurant you can call an ambulance, in a plane, you're stuck. It must be an absolutely terrifying way to die."
Don't fly then you won't.
I would imagine having a heart attack on a plane would also be pretty scary. Or a stroke, or being hijacked. None of those events are within your control, a nut allergy could be.

"Although more likely it's a wind up posted to get a reaction ..."
Correct, because I probably don't eat nuts from one month to the next, but I'd bet that some folk look forward to their "free" nuts when on a flight.
In my experience its been a long time since airlines gave out free nuts , or free anything for that matterVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

How many people with a severe heart condition risk air travel?0 -
And in mine too.
But when I made a similar point on page 2, it appears that some airlines still do give out free nuts.
Peanuts feature quite heavily in Malaysian cuisine so it isn't really that surprising that their national airlines also use them in their in-flight meals and snacks. For the moment, at least.
As long as that fact is well publicised, it shouldn't really cause a problem for nut allergy sufferers. Presumably, they would check the nut situation before they booked.0
