Nut allergy.

Anyone (like the OP) who "looks forward" to free nuts on a plane needs to get out more. Next time you fly OP, call the airline before you buy your seat to ask if there are any inconsiderate passengers with nut allergies, then you can take as many nut products as you like. Or better still, charter your own plane where there's no risk of YOU killing anyone with your selfish eating habits.
As above, read post #340 -

As I said, I don't eat nuts regularly, so I'm not desperate for nuts on a plane, my point is that people with a nut allergy are so self important that they don't see anything wrong in requesting that 100+ other people should accommodate then.0 -
Self important? When there is a risk to their lives and the inconvenience to others if any is trivial?
I think you need to take a long hard look at who is being self important in this scenario! And no, I don't have a nut allergy but I wouldn't dream of putting a strangers life at risk over something so ridiculous0 -

I think your first post said 'suffer' rather than 'accommodate' them. :rotfl:0 -

Yes that 4 year old girl Eva in the link I added was very self important .She even lost consciousness in a self important way0 -
Hmmm, self important? I haven't been called that before. I can't help having a nut allergy, and having to carry Epipens everywhere. Believe me, life was far easier before I developed it. I could eat anything without asking to see the ingredients list. I could use several toiletries that I can no longer use. I could even have a massage with almond oil.
Unfortunately for me, I did develop a nut allergy. It wasn't planned, and I try to let it interfere with my life and the lives of others as little as possible. However, there are some occasions when it require a bit of understanding from others. Allergies are, for the most part, unseen (until you have a reaction and end up covered in a rash or your face swells dreadfully). I suppose that most people don't have to think about allergies. When they are asked to consider them, thankfully the majority don't decide that you are full of your own self importance, but rather thank their lucky stars that they are not affected and try to help by avoiding the allergens for the required period of time.
When possible, I try to avoid making things difficult for people. On Brownie pack holiday this weekend, our cook and fellow guider is willing to accommodate my needs, but equally, I have tried to make sure that others are not inconvenienced because I have an allergy.
On the other hand, people such as the OP are definitely full of their own self importance because they don't want to suffer the inconvenience of flying without eating nuts, even if it is danferous for another passenger. So presumably the OP's wants should take priority over another person's medical needs, at least in their selfish opinion.0 -
I'll get the ale and some nuts, this thread is going nowhere!0

OP, do you smoke ?
Let imagine for a minute that you dont ..
Now how would you feel, if smoking was allowed on planes, and the guy in the seat next to you chain smoked big fat cuban cigars for the whole flight ??
Would you think that was ok ?
Afterall, we wouldnt want him to "suffer" by not endulging would we ?
Regardless of your discomfort or damage to health..
I cant decide, but either you are a brilliant troll, or an absolute c***0 -

Yes, I do smoke. If smoking was still allowed on planes, then smoker or not, I would accept that sitting next to the cigar chain smoker is at my risk.
OK, "Suffer" was probably too strong a word.
Yes, I am an absolute c***.0
