DH has taken two DDs out for a walk on the Cleveland Way and a picnic.

Another DD is at unu and last DD will be pottering about with me at home .

Intend to make a huge pot of soup in the slow cooker for tonight and will get some stuff for DDs lunchbox later.

Might get some nice wrapping paper for DDs birthday presents while I am out.

Was reading the Scotsman on Sunday and nearly choked over my breakfast - seems that as about 46,000 peple are expected to die in Scotland when pandemic flu happens, there will not be enough graves so the powers that be plan to order inflatable bouncy castle style tents to use as temporary mortuaries.
Now really glad I live in England as I doubt if such an undignified and disgusting idea would be adopted here.

Would love to know what Fifer makes of this idea!

Hugs to pennypincher, jackieO and anyone else feeling poorly or upset.

I always used to think I would not care what happened to me after I went but some things are just ridiculous!

    Afternoon all
I've popped on here 3 or 4 times so far today, but everytime I go to post, I get called away.
I'ts dull & overcast here today, so most of the washing that is on the line won't dry & will be finished off on the radiators.
I'm making some choc chip cookies for work tomorrow, not cooking lunch today as the lodger's cooking jerk chicken & sharing it with us.
    Have a good afternoon.
    Hugs Hester

  • Afternoon Guys!

Got to sisters OK and OH left me at about 4pm...its about an hours travel from where we live. Sister is in such a state and seems to be spending money to compensate which she really hasnt got ATM. For instance, we popped to Sainsburys earlier (Sis pushed me in my wheels and wasnt even allowed to stand up by myself!) but she was just thowing stuff in the trolley like no ones business:eek:    I insisted that we have a roast dinner today:D but its only the 2 of us as kids are with their dad and she bought pre-packed everything...roasties in butter TTD, free range organic chicken, ready prep veg...EVERYTHING!! I was truly gob smacked but am sure it will taste lovely and all left overs can be eaten tomorrow. Luckily...we only had a disabled trolley that clicks to the chair but she still managed to spend £103:eek:      ....£8 was mine on some stuff I needed but the rest was all ready made stuff!! I only spend about £40pw but was a nice treat but she put all on credit card..I gave her £20 towards it all but alot was for the kids lunchboxes..all crap basically. I have been helping her out with her debt for a while now but she is an emotional spender. I am looking for cheaper utilities and stuff this afternoon as the ba$tar$ of a husband has cancelled everything to stop in next 30 days!!

I have managed to eat a little today which I am pleased about and had liver, bacon and mash for lunch which was a ready meal but a TTD one which are pricey but lovely! I havent done much else. Sister keeps breaking down crying, but she has already found someone she is interested in and Im really not happy about it!....Will explain when I get home.

OH and DD have been lounging around:rolleyes: ..playing on Xbox and watching films, but OH needs the rest and I dont care what he does as long as he looks after himself and takes it easy.

Anyway, better go and find some cheap quotes.

Hugs to all and thanks for the continuing support.

    Afternoon all

just got back from coffee in town with friend - got some stardrops, borax and soda crystals from wilcos - how exciting - cheaper than mr T though. Picked up dd from her sister's - she's still wearing her school trousers as she hadn't packed properly and has got a right cob on - think she might want to stay at middle dd's for ever - think I might let her the mood she's in. Is 11 the new 14 or something? sample of conversation - me:hmm what shall we have for dinner? her:OMG! questions questions! do you have to know everything about my life!!!!!! I'm going to my room for some PEACE!!!!! the aforementioned peace btw consists of an usher cd on LOUD and her nintendo bleeping away.

right i need to get on with my flylady list from last week and make a fridge debris soup - have fun
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008
