Daily thread Sunday 07/10/2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 07/10/2007.This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

1mouseoneofthosedays.gif Everyone.

Hi Everyone, Apologies for not posting for a while - I find myself to be very busy at the moment. This is in the main is due to Mr Smokey deciding that as he can not work any more he will take on the re-decoration of the house

Bless his little cotton OS laundered socks  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have just finished getting the lounge straight and ironing the curtains alongside all the usual cleaning, I am just winding down and he is asleep - and has been for hours, oblivous to it all.

So I now find that I have a snagging list growing worrying longer as each day passes and hubby blithely whispering the eternal - 'Right I will see to it tommorrow'. ( Sound familiar fellow OSer's?)

I love him to bits but by golly he aint half causing extra work!!! Seriously though he feels really down at the moment and I think this is his way to make himself useful. Cue a very understanding Smokey who is NOT, repeat NOT having a donkey over the cost of all this. Sigh!
We are off to Trevor tommorrow (OK, today  )to see our nephew and hopefully return with the usual haul of lobsters and fish. The weather looks promising for DS1's first fishing trip out on the boat and he is really looking forward to it. I have some chicken in the SC with a fajita (sp) sauce, a cold mixed veg rice, garlic dip and some reduced tear and shares from Asda to tempt the tastebuds with, and fresh fruit to follow.

I hope you are all having a good weekend and -

hugsbyRach20kisses1.jpg from me, especially to pen pin - I may not post every day but I do look in on you all and I am disgusted that someone could feel the need to hurt you in this way.

See you all soon,

Smokey. xxxx

    Hi Kaz2904 :D

Trevor is a sleepy little village ourside of Pwllheli in N. Wales. Our nephew is a fisherman and each time we visit we usually 'aquire' some lobsters and cod, plaice or whatever he has caught that day as he fishes while he is pulling up the pots.
We get our trout from the lakes (when we can afford the charge for fishing there ;) )

    Good morning everyone,

Well I woke up this morning refreshed and happy. Logged onto my computer and saw a PM. I thought how lovely (sad I know) and to my dismay it was an [STRIKE]abusive[/STRIKE] gloating post from a certain mouse (rat really ) informing me that we had lost the rugby match. :p I was going to forward in on to Pink for her to deal with but I've just read yesterday's thread and I think I'll not bother. :D:p

OS arrived home just after lunch. He & DGS are on my bed having a rest. He's asleep while DGS is not. DH is busy extending our back verandah. Might post a picture when it's finished for you to see. Iv'e got to run as he needs a hand. Glad to see you Smokey & hope you all get back to sleep. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning SMOKY - good to hear from you.
Hi to KAZ and ELLIE and any other early risers/insomniacs.

I managed a great night's sleep - the first in ages, due to this cold, so, when I woke up at about 3.30 am, I felt quite refreshed. I think the cold has gone and I'm sure it's due to the non-OS curry we had last night; it was one of those you buy with everything you need in a bag and it just needs shoving in the oven. DH got it ready and I sat eating it whilst watching Strictly - bliss. It's going to be another great contest this year and even DH showed more interest than usual and is looking forward to next week's; (I wonder why, as if I didn't know, what with Kelly Brook, Penny Lancaster and co!!)

Well, going to have a look through the knitting thread and then I might get the ironing done. I'm feeling energetic at the moment which means I shall be longing for a snooze at about 10.30 am!

See you all later and (((hugs))) to all in need.

Hello there! Ah, Trevor- I thought it must be a place not a person!
I'm not an early riser unfortunately, I'm at work and BORED! I've just been reading about chickens too!
    Mmmm, I love curry!
Me and my friends are off to Torquay for a hen night next Saturday and the men are all gutted because they have to now figure out a way that they can do the responsible Dad thing and watch the rugby!
I expect they will end up having a BBQ/pizza/takeaway and chuck the kids out in the garden. They will then roll home.
I also expect it will be done at ours as it is at the top of the hill so no-one has to walk uphill to get home. What are they like hey?

How old is DS? We can't wait to take DD6 and DS4 (well both nearly!) but don't know if they are old enough yet? I would love them to get into a hobby that involved filling my freezer and cutting my food bills.

Morning. Up early again. Just as well as I can watch the motor racing. Then get the newspaper and take the dog for a walk.
Church at 10.30, followed by a hunger lunch. Basically pumpkin soup. The money we would have spent on a Sunday meal goes into the collection pot for famine relief.
Work at 2 ish and then home for bed. Wekll maybe American footy on the telly first
Lots of sport on this weekend, great is'nt it:j

Morning N9EAV - my 'sport' for the weekend was Strictly Come Dancing (!) but I thoroughly enjoyed Amir's brilliant fight last night and it's great that we beat Australia in the Rugby. Can't stand the noise in Formula 1, though!

Hi AMIE. Yes, just send the ironing down! Make the most of my burst of energy - it won't last! Sorry about the nutter down your road; we had that not long ago. Years ago I'd have had a go, shouted out of the window or something but, these days, I'd be too scared. I had more sleep than you but will still have a doze later.

    Have a good day.
